We are looking for you who can create situations where students succeed.

About us
In the adapted primary school, there are currently eight classes that study both subjects and subject areas – what was previously called training school. There are seven class teachers and five practical aesthetic teachers at the school, and in each class, there are one to three teaching assistants who follow the students throughout their school day, which may consist of both school and leisure activities.
In the adapted upper secondary school, there are currently three classes studying the individual program. There are three mentors and six practical aesthetic teachers at the school, and in each class, there are two to three teaching assistants who follow the students throughout their school day.
We are now looking for a colleague for the adapted primary school and a colleague for the adapted upper secondary school!
What does the job entail?
We are currently seeking a teaching assistant for students with intellectual disabilities. As a teaching assistant with us, you are part of the student's entire school day, which also means participating in lunch and break activities, as well as working in our primary school's leisure program in the afternoons.
You will provide both practical and pedagogical support. You will facilitate learning in consultation with teachers, create a safe environment, follow up, and collaborate with other functions in the school. As a teaching assistant, you are an important part of supporting the student's schooling!
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for someone who has:
- completed upper secondary education
- experience working with children or young people in need of special support.
It is an advantage if you have:
- worked as a teaching assistant in an adapted upper secondary school or adapted primary school
- post-secondary education in a relevant field for the position
- knowledge of alternative communication.
We are looking for someone who has a genuine interest in students in need of special support. You should have a strong commitment and a desire to develop together with colleagues and students. You will work in a team where cooperation, clear communication, and safety are at the center. We are looking for someone who sees opportunities, is not afraid to think outside the box, and find solutions in the moment. Furthermore, you have experience working with children, youth, or young adults with special needs such as Autism, NPF, and ID.
You have patience and are passionate about creating a meaningful and functioning school day for the student. You are secure, calm, and flexible in your interactions with students and have the ability to make quick decisions when the situation requires it. You work in a structured manner and have a leadership style based on the belief that all students can and want to develop. As a person, you are attentive to the students' needs, clear, respectful, and have a great ability to build relationships with both our students and guardians as well as colleagues. You have a low-arousal approach to the students.
