Your Mission

As a youth leader with us, you will engage in a varied role where you will meet many young people, which requires you to be secure and pedagogical. The work as a youth leader is about ensuring that every young person feels safe in the youth house. You will lead leisure activities that you plan together with colleagues, being attentive to the wishes of the youth, work with events, and participate in the development of the youth house.

About the Workplace

Verkstäderna is located in central Söderhamn but is an open leisure activity for youth throughout the municipality. We work both inside our beautiful youth house and out in the municipality with our activity trailer.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for someone with knowledge and experience in leading children and youth both individually and in groups within leisure or similar activities. Perhaps you have an education in children, youth, leisure, or an artistic field such as visual arts, theater, music production, or film.

As a youth leader, it is important that you are secure, stable, and self-aware, with a pedagogical and flexible approach that adapts to the situation. You are outgoing and socially active, easily creating connections. It is important that you are calm, attentive in your interactions, and have a good ability to express yourself in speech and writing.

You enjoy taking initiative and readily start activities. You can easily adapt to changing circumstances and quickly adjust your perspective and approach. You work well with others, listening, communicating, and resolving conflicts smoothly.

You have the ability to work hard and invest time, energy, and commitment into your work. You value diversity and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect yourself and others. You are creative and often come up with ideas and new approaches to work-related issues. Your innovative thinking can be put into practice and leads to results.

Knowledge of norm criticism and anti-discrimination is an advantage, as well as knowledge of conflict management.

You have a valid driver's license (B).
