Your Mission
Do you want to help develop the future social services for children and youth? We are now looking for an assistant unit manager for the Authority for Children and Youth! With the new Social Services Act (SoL), we are facing an exciting and challenging change process.
To strengthen our overall approach to the authority's operations for children and youth, and to meet future needs, we are now enhancing leadership by transforming one of our two unit manager positions into an assistant unit manager position.
As an assistant unit manager, you will play a central role in leading and developing the Authority for Children and Youth together with the unit manager. You will be part of shaping the future social services, where we face both new challenges and opportunities through the new legislation. Our goal is to create a safe and stable operation with the best interests of the child in focus, where we work preventively and long-term to meet both societal and individual needs.
In the role of assistant unit manager, you will support the unit manager in leading, coordinating, and developing the unit. You will be responsible for selected development areas and projects, participate in decision-making processes, and make decisions within your area of responsibility. You will ensure that the operations are conducted in accordance with applicable legislation, guidelines, and quality requirements. You will replace the unit manager in their absence and actively contribute to a good working environment and psychological safety.

Your Competence
We are looking for someone with a degree in social work (required) and at least five years of experience in authority operations within social services, particularly focused on children and youth. You also have experience in leadership.
You are confident in your role as a leader, have the ability to work strategically, and see the big picture. You set high standards for quality, are clear in your communication, and collaborate well with others. You value a good working climate, are solution-focused, and are driven to develop the operations and achieve results together with colleagues. Your commitment to the best interests of children and youth is genuine, and you have the ability to create participation and engagement among employees. You are structured, flexible, and thrive in a changing environment.
Knowledge of the operational system Lifecare, Signs of Safety, and quality management systems within social services is an advantage.
Interviews may be conducted continuously during the recruitment process. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability and the ability to fit into the work teams.
