Personal assistance is an intervention according to LSS (the Act on Support and Service for Certain Disabled Persons). As a personal assistant, you provide individual support and care to individuals who have been granted personal assistance because they need help with one or more basic needs. Each client is unique, and your tasks will vary based on the client's needs. You respect the client's self-determination and integrity, and contribute to making everyday life run smoothly.

About the position The role of a personal assistant places high demands on the ability to create safe and trusting relationships. Therefore, we are looking for someone who is attentive, engaged, and responsible. The work requires you to take your own initiatives while being clear and consistent in your approach.

You will work closely with the client in their daily life and be a support during both calm moments and in situations where extra attention and presence are required. It is important that you are observant, have a good ability to read needs, and can adapt your working methods so that the client feels safe and understood.

We are now looking for someone who fits the following:

• Wants to work with a 28-year-old man living in Gävle

• Has good knowledge of Swedish

• Is smoke-free, applies to both cigarettes and e-cigarettes

• Can work scent-free, meaning without perfume or other strong scents

• Is tolerant of pets, as there is a cat in the home

• Has experience working with individuals with autism

• Is calm, secure, and has the ability to be clear and consistent when needed

It is also meritorious if you:

• Have previously worked as a personal assistant

• Have experience with low-arousal approaches and can handle outwardly aggressive situations in a safe manner

• Share the client's interests, such as watching movies, swimming, and playing ball

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Working hours, employment rate, and salary: The current employment form for the position is “As long as the assistance assignment lasts”. This position comprises approximately 35%.

The work is scheduled for even weeks and consists of day and night shifts as follows:

• Friday–Saturday 3:00 PM–3:00 PM (24-hour shift)

• Sunday–Monday 3:00 PM–7:00 AM or 8:30 AM, depending on whether the client is going to daily activities or is at home

All shifts include on-call time between 11:00 PM–6:00 AM.

Fixed hourly wage according to agreement and other compensations are in accordance with collective agreements.

Start date according to agreement.
