We are currently looking for a consultant for our client within a larger organization with extensive and ongoing change initiatives. The client's established business development function is receiving more internal requests for support in change management than can be met with existing resources. Therefore, there is a need for one or more experienced resource consultants to strengthen the area of change management.

The assignment involves working in various types of business assignments, with varying complexity, scope, and character. In addition to contributing operationally to ongoing initiatives, you are also expected to support the organization in increasing knowledge, understanding, and competence in change management – thereby strengthening the overall ability to drive change.

The receiving function has an overarching functional responsibility for change management and acts as a strategic, governing, and supportive unit. The work is carried out in close collaboration with the business and includes development work as well as coordination, management, and development of common working methods, tools, and techniques. The function works in areas such as:

  • Project, assignment, and change management
  • Process management and business architecture
  • Portfolio and project management
  • Management leadership

The assignment is characterized by a holistic perspective at the organizational level.

Role and Responsibility

As a change leader, you guide individuals, groups, and parts of the organization through change. You often work within the framework of projects or assignments and may concurrently operate in one or more initiatives. The assignment may also include roles such as workshop leader, assignment leader, or project manager.

To succeed, you need to be able to work independently and take clear responsibility for driving change work at both tactical and operational levels. You are responsible for planning and executing activities within change management – either on your own or through others.

You work closely with project managers and/or clients, which requires high communicative ability and clarity regarding responsibilities, deliverables, and boundaries between different roles.

Tasks

The assignment may include the following components, with the list potentially expanding during the contract period:

  • Support clients, managers, and the organization in driving change work towards set goals and identified effects
  • Plan the work and develop and anchor documentation such as an overarching change plan, impact analysis, and stakeholder mapping
  • Lead and manage the change process, including the implementation of operational activities
  • Work closely with program, project, and assignment management as well as communicators where applicable
  • Conduct presentations, workshops, and similar efforts to strengthen competence in change management within the organization

This is a consulting assignment for you who want to contribute to real and sustainable change in a complex organization – and who has the ability to translate strategy into practical action.
