The Culture Administration encompasses 40 libraries, the Culture School with about 17,000 participant spots, the City Museum, the Medieval Museum, Stockholm Art, Stockholmia Publishing, Liljevalchs Art Hall, and the events department.

Your role

As a financial controller at the Culture Administration, your task is to support the managers within Stockholm's city library operations. With your expertise, you help the managers see the connections between operations, personnel, and finances. Your role includes explaining these connections clearly and understandably, so that finances become a tool for the manager to drive operations in the best way.

You will continuously work with evaluation and reporting of the overall operations. This includes analysis, forecasts, and follow-up. You will also work on producing various types of calculations and decision-making materials to support the managers in procurement issues. As a financial controller, you will also be responsible for year-end closing and some questions and tasks related to accounting.

An important part of the job is to understand what can be extracted from IT-based systems and programs and to develop their use in follow-up and analysis. In your work as a financial controller, you will report to the financial manager of the Culture Administration.

Your skills and experience

We are looking for someone who has:

• a university degree with an economic focus
• several years of experience as a financial controller
• good knowledge in financial management as well as in follow-up, analysis, and reporting
• experience and good skills in data processing in Excel
• experience working in financial systems
• good communication skills in Swedish, both spoken and written
• good experience in creating and delivering presentations in your role as a financial controller

Meritorious:

• experience working within Stockholm City or another politically governed organization
• experience working with internal control
• experience with Hypergene (budget and forecasting tool)
• experience with the financial system Agresso

To succeed in the role of financial controller, it is important that you are a communicative and attentive person who appreciates and has the ability to collaborate with others. You are good at working consultatively and can easily build trust with others. We are looking for someone who is results-oriented, takes great personal responsibility, and has a good ability to meet deadlines.

You can clearly and structurally plan, organize, and prioritize work to achieve set goals. You can quickly familiarize yourself with and work in a new operation.

Finally, you have a very good analytical ability and pedagogical insight. You have the ability and are used to explaining complex relationships, both in speech and writing, to non-economists.
