Workplace Description
The Environmental and Energy Systems (IMES) is one of the oldest sustainability-focused research environments at Lund University, active in teaching and research since 1968.
The department, which belongs to the Faculty of Engineering, conducts research in four broad areas:
- From fossil to bio-based energy systems
- The climate transition of energy-intensive industry and its role in the energy system
- Resource and security issues of supply chains in a climate transition
- Studies of sustainable futures.
We are about 30 employees and have offices in the V-building at LTH Campus.
Job Responsibilities
As an assistant, your tasks may vary, and they should provide insight into the academic world at the university where you are studying.
You will participate in a research project on international governance and policy for chemical safety. The project is funded by the research council Formas (2025-01662) and is a collaboration with Swedish and international partners. You will assist in the collection, processing, and analysis of data on initiatives for regulation and governance of chemical safety in various countries.
The working hours will be flexible, with good opportunities for adjustment to your study schedule. The workplace is offered at the department.
Qualifications
Eligible for employment as an assistant is someone who is admitted to education at the undergraduate or graduate level at Lund University. A degree must not have been obtained.
Requirements for the position are:
- admitted to education in engineering, economic history, economics, economic geography, political science, or equivalent education deemed relevant by the employer.
- very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
- good collaboration skills.
- ability to take initiative.
Desirable qualifications for the position include:
- experience of independent work with the collection, processing, and analysis of qualitative and/or quantitative data.
- knowledge of policy analysis.
- knowledge of international agreements and treaties on plastics and chemicals.

Other
The position is temporary until 2026-06-30 with immediate start. The extent of the employment will be 15-40% and will be determined together with the candidate.
The employment must not negatively affect the assistant's studies and cannot be combined with other employment. Regulations regarding educational employment as an assistant can be found in the Higher Education Ordinance (SFS 2017:284), Chapter 5, Sections 8-12.
The position is covered by the Flexitime Agreement for T/A staff.
