Client Administrator at the Swedish Prison and Probation Service

The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society will be safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, remand facilities, and client transport.

The Saltvik area includes the prisons Saltvik, Härnösand, and Ljustadalen, as well as the remand facility Saltvik. Within the area, there is a wide range from the open women's prison Ljustadalen to the closed prison Saltvik, which, in addition to regular departments, also has one of the country's three security units. The prison in Härnösand is also a closed facility. The largest professional group is correctional officers, but we also have healthcare professionals, administrative staff, educators, production leaders, etc. The inmates are engaged in education, various treatment programs, or work within the prison's packaging/assembly, laundry, or woodwork. You can easily reach the Saltvik prison and remand facility by bus or car and park in our staff parking. The Härnösand prison is located in the town center with good bus connections and staff parking. The Ljustadalen prison is just outside Birsta and also offers staff parking and good bus connections.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the leadership of the correctional inspector, you will have a law enforcement role as a client administrator, responsible for the overall client work, which includes quality assurance, development, and follow-up of execution planning and case management. Your tasks will include preparing and presenting client cases and making certain client decisions. The work involves investigation, decision-making, and collaboration with other authorities. Your assignment includes making assessments based on applicable regulations, guidelines, and practices, as well as continuously mentoring and training staff in the client process.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who works well with others and can easily adapt to changing circumstances. As a client administrator with us, you need to be self-driven, proactive, and motivated. Since the role also involves mentoring and training other staff, we seek someone who is pedagogical and can adapt their way of conveying messages. Furthermore, you are responsible and structured, which for us means that you can plan, organize, and prioritize work effectively. To thrive in this role, you need to remain calm in stressful situations and focus on the right things.

We are looking for someone who has:

• University or college education with a legal, social, or behavioral science focus, or other education combined with experience deemed equivalent by the Swedish Prison and Probation Service
• Good administrative law knowledge
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing
• Good computer skills
• Driver's license B

It is an advantage if you have:

• Experience in case management within public administration
• Experience working with sentence calculations
• Knowledge of and experience working with the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's client administrative systems
• Experience in handling client cases in the Swedish Prison and Probation Service
• Approved correctional education
