Technical System Leader for Underwater Sensors

Do you want to be part of developing the Navy's Technical and Maintenance Department (TVA) and our work with underwater sensors? TVA Marin is a department within the Navy Staff's Materiel Office (MtrlK). The main purpose of the Navy's Materiel Office is to support the Navy Chief in ensuring that the Armed Forces' materiel maintains the capabilities over time that each combat unit requires. This means that TVA should support creating conditions for the materiel to be available and system-worthy to the decided level. MtrlK needs to grow and expand with additional employees. We are now looking for a Technical System Leader (TSL) for underwater sensors (Uvsensor).

Main Responsibilities

Underwater sensors include, among other things, shipborne sonar, underwater positioning, and analysis systems on the Navy's platforms, such as corvettes, mine countermeasure vessels, and submarines. In addition, there are fixed underwater sensor systems managed from land and standalone mobile sonar and measurement systems.

  • Be responsible for the maintenance of underwater sensors
  • Exercise material and design responsibility for underwater sensors and the associated systems
  • Support in connection with system and material deliveries
  • Contribute to ensuring that requirements for operational security, confidentiality, working environment, system security, consideration of the external environment, supervision, and reporting are met for the Armed Forces' materiel
  • Support the Technical Manager at the Navy Staff and the material area manager (MOA) within design responsibility and maintenance
  • Lead and participate in various forums such as the Technical Council and user meetings
  • Conduct needs allocation for underwater sensors and their associated systems, and support other TVK in needs allocation for these material systems
  • Follow up on system worthiness/security for underwater sensors and lead/participate in system security work
  • Lead the ordering organization regarding AU/FU and modifications within the framework of maintenance
  • Follow up on maintenance economy regarding budget, forecasts, and outcomes

The work involves close collaboration within TVA, Product Leaders at the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration, maintenance managers in the Armed Forces, and the units as well as industry.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Approved high school education
  • Technical university education or education deemed equivalent by the Armed Forces
  • Documented experience working with technical systems
  • Good administrative skills and knowledge of parts of the Office package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Driving license B

The work requires that you have high integrity and are proactive with good judgment. You are meticulous and unpretentious, which also means that you are a good team player. You have the ability to express your opinions verbally and in writing, are clear and communicative. Flexibility and adaptability are desirable qualities. In the selection process, great importance will be placed on personal qualities, suitability, and achieved results in previous areas of activity.

MERITORIOUS

  • Experience with underwater sensors
  • Material knowledge within uvsensor
  • Knowledge of marine technical systems and materiel
  • Technical background
  • Professional experience in the field
  • Experience with support systems used in the Armed Forces such as LIFT and PRIO

Other

Employment form permanent. The Armed Forces applies a six-month probationary period for those who are not employed by the authority. Work location Karlskrona. The position includes travel. The position is civilian. Start as soon as possible or by agreement. Individual salary setting applies.
