System Technician at Boverket

Boverket is the national authority for planning, construction, and housing. We aim to contribute to a sustainable society with good housing in viable environments. Our focus is on issues related to the built environment, management of land and water areas, physical planning, construction, and management of buildings, housing, and housing finance. Since July 2025, Boverket has also been the preparedness authority within the preparedness sector for industry, construction, and trade.

Boverket's headquarters is located in Karlskrona, with a smaller office in Malmö. Today, approximately 240 people work at the authority, including architects, civil engineers, economists, lawyers, communicators, planners, and social scientists.

Your Role with Us

Boverket is expanding its operations and is now looking for a new system technician for our IT unit.

The unit has overall responsibility for all IT at Boverket and is responsible for user support, system management, development, and daily operations of IT systems. Boverket actively works with digitization and automation of processes. New challenges and tasks for employees in the unit have also arisen with Boverket's new role as a preparedness authority.

With us, you will be part of a competent team that ensures a reliable, modern, and secure infrastructure environment for all operations. Together with your colleagues, you will carry out tasks such as:

• Monitoring and ongoing maintenance of server environments, storage environments, networks, databases, and applications.
• Ensuring that system documentation is accessible and up to date.
• Participating in 2nd line support for assigned systems, which involves contact with management leaders and suppliers regarding support issues.
• Potential implementation projects for new and larger changes in operational systems.

You will work in our environments, which include:

• VMware
• Windows Server platform
• Databases Microsoft SQL Server
• Network and firewall
• Active Directory
• MS Exchange
• Monitoring and logging
• Client management

Your work will also include the production deployment of new systems and functionalities, as well as application support, which involves collaboration with management leaders both within the IT unit and in Boverket's operations. As a system technician at Boverket, you have great opportunities to develop in your role and contribute to operational development through your ideas.

Your Competence Profile

We are looking for someone with a relevant university degree in IT or equivalent competence that the employer assesses as equivalent. You have current and good knowledge of IT infrastructure and application operations in Microsoft server environments, technology, routines, documentation, and support. It is particularly advantageous if you have several years of experience as a system technician focused on networks, infrastructure, and IT security solutions.

As a person, you are solution-oriented, unpretentious, and meticulous. Through your engagement, you contribute with the will and ability to improve, develop, and optimize the environment. You have good collaborative skills and are service-oriented. You enjoy working on multiple tasks simultaneously, both independently and with others. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

The Employment

The position is a permanent employment at the headquarters in Karlskrona. Start date by agreement, but our hope is that our new system technician can start as soon as possible in 2026. The position may be placed in a security class, and if so, Boverket will conduct a security review with a background check prior to employment. More information about this will be provided during upcoming interviews or through contact with the recruiting manager.
