Welcome to be challenged and develop with us!

Do you want to work in a municipality characterized by proximity to decision-makers, residents, and the sea, where your work makes a real difference? Trosa Municipality is now looking for a dedicated social worker for our Child and Family Unit. With us, you will have the opportunity to grow in a meaningful role, alongside knowledgeable colleagues and close leadership.

The Child and Family Unit is part of the social office in Trosa Municipality, where we have a reception group, investigative social workers, foster care, family treatment/parent support, family law, and support functions. The social office is led by a social manager with overall responsibility and two unit managers responsible for the operational work within their respective units, the Child and Family Unit and the Adult Unit. As a smaller municipality, we have short decision-making paths and a work culture that promotes close collaboration and a holistic perspective.

WHAT DOES YOUR ROLE AS A SOCIAL WORKER MEAN WITH US?

As an investigative social worker in the Child and Family Unit, you will work with the target group aged 0–20 years, focusing on the needs of children and young people for safety and support. The work is team-based and family-oriented, and we use BBIC (Children's Needs in Focus) and Signs of Safety as the foundation for our investigations. We work with evidence-based methods and in close collaboration with other actors in society.

The position involves a structured and development-oriented approach, where you as a social worker play an important role in contributing to the transition towards a social service with a greater focus on preventive work and early interventions. You will have the opportunity to work in an organization characterized by openness, engagement, and active change work. You will receive a well-planned introduction, mentorship, regular external supervision, and good opportunities for professional development. Through the county's R&D and collaboration in Sörmland, you will also be offered joint training days and further education.

You will work on investigating the needs of children and young people for protection and support based on current legislation, making decisions about interventions, and following them up. The work also involves coordinating support measures in collaboration with other professionals to ensure a safe and stable situation for the child or young person.

You build trusting relationships with children, young people, and their families, meeting them in various life situations. You work independently but also collaborate closely with colleagues in the team and within other parts of the social office.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are looking for someone who has a strong commitment to children's rights and safety, and who wants to work with qualified social work in a smaller municipality where collaboration and flexibility are part of everyday life.

The work requires you to have a good ability to structure and plan your work, while being flexible and able to adapt to changing conditions. You take initiative, are used to working independently within the framework of the assignment, and find it easy to collaborate with others. We see it as particularly important that you enjoy collaborating both internally and externally. Your interest and competence can also contribute to the development of our operations, based on your experiences and strengths.

We place great importance on you actively contributing to the development of our operations, both in daily work and in the larger processes ongoing to adapt the operations to the new social services legislation.

You who apply are/have:

  • a degree in social work
  • experience of authority exercise within social services for children and families
  • comfortable and experienced in meeting children, young people, and their families in various situations
  • good at expressing yourself in both speech and writing

  • experience with methods such as Signs of Safety and BBIC
