JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Are you trained in pool lifeguarding or have similar training? Are you passionate about water safety, swimming skills, wellness, health, and service? Do you enjoy working with people of all ages and from all parts of the world? Then we might have the job for you! We are now looking for a lifeguard at Angered Arena who wants to contribute to the development of our unit and the arena.

The Angered unit consists of Angered Arena as the main workplace and Hammarbadet as needed, a larger and a smaller facility. We have swimming pools, a gym, group training, activity squares, an ice rink, a sports hall, and an athletics hall. Two unit managers lead the operations together with three team leaders and about forty employees. In the operations, lifeguards, gym instructors, and sports workers are employed. The facility stands for innovation, and the goal is to encourage physical activity, contribute to improved public health, and a rich association life. One of our most important goals is to increase swimming skills and improve public health in Angered.

As a lifeguard with us, your main focus will be to monitor our swimming pools and ensure that the swimming facility is in the best condition, clean and fresh, as well as a safe and secure place. You will maintain, create, and implement routines regarding safety and cleaning to provide a high-quality experience for our visitors. The role also includes planning and leading water aerobics for our visitors, as well as other group training for children and youth. Another important task is to be a host for our guests and ensure that our comfort rules are followed so that everyone has as pleasant a visit as possible with us. Therefore, we expect you to have a positive attitude and a natural sense of service. The position may also include working at our reception or similar tasks. We expect you to have good computer skills and be able to navigate various IT systems.

Being a lifeguard is a fun and inspiring job; you will be part of an engaged and supportive team with a shared focus on our visitors. Working hours are scheduled for both days, evenings, and weekends.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a high school education, preferably focused on sports activities or youth activities. You are a trained pool lifeguard or have other training in swimming, wellness, and health that is deemed equivalent. You have experience working in a swimming pool or similar environment, and have experience in service work. We also see that you have experience working with children and youth where you can be both an inspiration and a role model as well as a guiding hand for them. Since water aerobics is part of the job, training or experience in leading water aerobics is a requirement. It is also an advantage if you have experience in cleaning or reception work and have good computer skills and can navigate various IT systems. As a lifeguard, you need to understand swimming pool hygiene and the importance of cleaning, as well as that cleaning in the swimming pool and its surrounding areas is a significant part of the job. You need to master the Swedish language well in both spoken and written form for communication with colleagues as well as visitors. We consider it an advantage if you are multilingual and have experience and a good understanding of the multicultural area.
