Social Worker at the Social Administration in Järfälla
The Social Administration in Järfälla is responsible for the areas of elderly care, disability support, and individual and family care (IFO). Within IFO, we work with 200 dedicated and competent employees who always strive to offer our residents a high-quality social service. Since January this year, the unit has focused more on authority exercise as we have become a more specialized reception unit. The unit now consists of the functions of reception and new visits regarding financial assistance, housing applications, and estate management. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
From January, the reception will consist of 8 social workers who will be divided into two teams led by their respective team leaders. As a social worker, you will alternate between reception weeks and investigation weeks, where your tasks will include everything from receiving and investigating new applications for financial assistance to making decisions. An important part of the reception work is to clarify which clients should be booked for new visits and which should not be booked and to justify why.
During reception weeks, you will staff the phone reception, where you receive applications, ask clarifying questions, and provide information and advice. You will also conduct reception visits at the office, sometimes together with colleagues from other units, to investigate and make decisions. An important part of the work involves investigating clients' municipal affiliation, as well as participating in eviction prevention measures and being present at evictions. Handling e-applications and being prepared to receive urgent cases are also central parts of your work.
During investigation weeks, you will focus on new visits and conduct basic investigations, where you process and make decisions based on your assessments. Home visits and follow-ups in certain cases, as well as investigating electricity and rent debts, are also part of your tasks. The work is varied and at times fast-paced, requiring a good ability to make quick decisions, sometimes regarding rejections, as well as meeting people in various situations with a good approach.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a degree in social work and experience in authority exercise within financial assistance. Experience in reception work is desirable.
You have a good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing, and are structured with good planning and organizational skills. You have good knowledge of authority exercise and social work, as well as an understanding of digitalization, as we are constantly working to improve our e-services and digital processes. You are stable, can handle different situations with a good approach and remain calm even at a higher work pace. You value collaboration, are clear in your communication, and are solution-oriented and flexible. Experience with Lifecare is an advantage, but not a requirement. A driver's license is desirable as home visits occur in the work.
