The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse. SiS also implements closed youth care. We do this in youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse, across the country. At SiS, your work life will be an exciting challenge. Regardless of where in our organization you work, or what position you hold, you help create life-changing transformations.
At the head office in Solna Business Park, we are about 350 employees, and together we work to support and develop the authority with about 4000 employees.
Job Description
Do you want to be part of a development journey in a socially important operation? SiS is an authority in change, and we are looking for you who want to contribute to our important societal mission.
The SiS legal department is growing, and we are now looking for three lawyers for the legal department and the section for operational law. The operational law section is responsible for legal governance, support, and follow-up of SiS special youth homes and LVM homes. Furthermore, the section provides legal support to SiS's youth care and substance abuse care departments.
In addition to the operational law section, the legal department consists of three other sections: the sections for administrative law, information management, and registry and public documents. The work in the legal department is characterized by high accessibility for the operations as we work broadly across the authority. We are responsible for legal certainty within the authority, which is based on clear guidelines and frameworks.
As a lawyer with us, you will have a varied and interesting workday. The work encompasses all legal issues that may arise in a large administrative authority. Among the tasks are legal advice to the special youth homes, LVM homes, and the head office, preparation of legal investigations, and opinions to courts and other authorities. Conducting internal training in legal matters is also part of the duties. Travel in the service may occur.
SiS's operations should be equal and free from discrimination, and we carry out our work with good ethics and high quality.
Qualifications
We are looking for lawyers who will
- have a law degree comprising at least 270 credits,
- through at least two years of legal work have acquired knowledge in one of the legal areas of general administrative law or social legislation, and

It is meritorious if you meet any of the following
- are notarized or have been a rapporteur in an administrative court
- have several years of experience from a government authority
- have acquired knowledge in health and medical care legislation or in school legislation through work
As a lawyer at SiS, you need to be able to work both independently and in a team. Furthermore, you need to have very good judgment and be able to take significant personal responsibility. It is important that you have a good ability to explain and communicate legal issues in an easily understandable way. To thrive, we see that you are a person motivated by varied tasks and are happy to share your knowledge.
We will place great emphasis on your personal qualities and abilities.
At SiS, we care about good employee relations. This means that you, as an employee, take responsibility for your work, contribute to development, and participate in good collaboration. Read more about our employee relations.
