Who are we?
The Center for Multilingualism (CFF) is a central unit responsible for organizing mother tongue education and study guidance in Norrköping municipality.
We are located at Södra Promenaden 60, Fenixhuset. We assist both municipal and independent schools from grade 3 up to high school. Mother tongue education is mandatory when the student has applied for it. Our teaching and assessment are based on the curriculum (Lgr22).
We are Norrköping's most multicultural workplace with 65 employees speaking 35 different languages, striving to offer high-quality services and implementing various forms of professional development for teachers.
Your tasks
As a study guide, you help students develop concepts in various subjects in Swedish using the student's strongest language, thereby supporting them in understanding the content of the teaching.
You will work closely with the student's regular subject teachers to best adapt the teaching to the students' needs.
Your role also includes contributing to creating safety, motivation, and a conducive study environment.
Who are you?
We are looking for someone who has grown up in the geographical language area, has good knowledge of Swahili, and preferably has a teaching degree from their home country and/or Sweden. A teaching license in the subject of mother tongue or another language and/or training in study guidance is desirable.
Experience in mother tongue education and study guidance in Swedish schools is an advantage.
As a person, you are positive, trustworthy, and persistent. You quickly orient yourself in new environments and easily connect with students, staff, and guardians.
We see that you are flexible in adapting to changes that occur throughout the workday, focusing on those we are here for.
You are a good listener and enjoy working with students.
To succeed in the role, we see that you are independent and enjoy collaborating and developing together with your colleagues. You have good knowledge of Swedish.
