Your responsibilities

Your starting point as a teacher is to work with planning, teaching, evaluation, and value-based work according to the curriculum. The work is carried out both independently and in collaboration with colleagues.

As a teacher, you see the entire school day of the student as important, and therefore you collaborate with both guardians and colleagues regarding the student. As part of this, the school's and after-school care's activities collaborate to achieve higher goal fulfillment and create the best conditions for each student.

Your role is versatile and includes being a co-teacher and resource teacher in grades 4-6, which means you can teach students individually and, to some extent, also substitute for your colleagues when needed.

You start from the student group you meet and are expected to create varied and challenging teaching. Using digital tools is a natural part of your teaching.

You promote collegial learning through discussion and reflection during both planned and spontaneous occasions. To benefit the students' learning, as well as your own and the development of the organization, you take advantage of the experiences and knowledge of different professions.

Your workplace

Nygårdsskolan is a K-6 school with approximately 300 students, most of whom have a multicultural background. The school has newly renovated, fresh premises and is located in the Skäggetorp district. The school has a pleasant schoolyard of about 14,000 square meters. New play equipment is available to promote play, creativity, movement, and social interaction.

The school offers after-school care for students in grades F-3 and open after-school activities for students in grades 4-6. We have a staffed school library with a well-developed book collection, a well-functioning student health team, a popular after-school program, and developed environmental work at the school. At Nygårdsskolan, cooperative learning is used in teaching 1-2 days a week, which benefits students' development.

Who we are looking for

Primarily, we are looking for someone with a teaching license authorized to teach grades 4-6 in Swedish and Swedish as a second language. Alternatively, we are looking for someone with a completed teacher education for grades 4-6 in Swedish and Swedish as a second language. Alternatively, you are at the end of your education to become a teacher in grades 4-6 in Swedish and Swedish as a second language. A teaching license in social studies subjects and English for grades 4-6, as well as authorization to teach additional subjects in grades 4-6, is advantageous.

It is a requirement that you have experience working in a curriculum-driven school through practice or as an employee. It is advantageous if you have taught grades 4-6 in Swedish and Swedish as a second language for at least one school year. It is also advantageous if you have experience in grading or documenting students' learning during the school year.

In your role as a teacher in grades 4-6, you have good knowledge of the school's mission and are well acquainted with the curriculum (Lgr22) and other governing documents. You have good communicative skills in spoken and written Swedish. This is so that you, according to the curriculum (Lgr22), can organize and carry out the work so that the student receives support in their language and communication development. You are responsible for ensuring that each student can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way.

As a teacher in grades 4-6, you are a good role model. You have the ability to adapt your teaching to the students and allow them to participate in shaping the teaching. In a quality-conscious manner, you create good conditions for the student's development and learning and document it. You collaborate well with colleagues, guardians, and other contacts in the community that are part of your professional role.
