I Ur och Skurskolan Skattkammarön is an outdoor school in Norrköping that started in 2006. We have a warm school atmosphere where our profile is outdoor pedagogy. The teaching is based on I Ur och Skur and Friluftsfrämjandets unique pedagogy. The proximity to nature and water provides great opportunities to conduct teaching outside the classroom. Close to us are also both Stadium Arena, the ice rink, and the library, which we often take advantage of.

The school is located next to SMHI, in the growing district of Sandtorp, with good connections to central Norrköping.

We have 145 students in grades F-9. The teaching groups consist of 12–18 students. We have an open and helpful faculty where team spirit and collaboration are in focus.

We are looking for an engaged special education teacher who wants to be part of our team in the middle and high school – preferably with a passion for nature and outdoor pedagogy!

Your responsibilities

As a special education teacher at Skattkammarön, you are responsible for the school's efforts for students in middle and high school who have challenges in their learning. You will work closely with students, teachers, parents, and the student health team to create an inclusive learning environment. You also collaborate with other colleagues regarding the student's knowledge development. You actively participate in the school's and the work team's various joint tasks where you contribute with your ideas and experience. As a special education teacher, you are also responsible for documenting support measures and following up on action programs. You are also involved in the student health team's follow-up and analysis work for the development of the school's efforts to help more students reach their full potential in learning.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who is a licensed special education teacher for grades 7–9 or 4–9 and has experience teaching in these grades. As a person, you are a natural leader who creates engagement and participation around you. It is of great importance that you easily create contacts and maintain relationships with students and colleagues. Furthermore, we also see that you are driven and persistent in striving towards set goals despite challenges along the way.

You have documented and good competence in leadership. You have experience in leadership roles, whether within or outside of school.
