Your Responsibilities
As a physical education teacher at Vallastadens School, you will have great freedom to plan and structure your work. You will, among other things:
- Lead and conduct physical education classes and help drive the subject forward.
- Plan and organize the school's swimming instruction and be responsible for planning outdoor days in close collaboration with colleagues.
- Conduct continuous assessments and assign grades in grade 6.
- Apply a low-arousal approach in interactions with students.
- Collaborate closely with other teachers in the faculty and maintain active contact with guardians.
You will work closely with other teachers to collaborate on students' individual needs and development.
You will be part of a work team as well as a subject team. In the subject team, all teachers responsible for practical aesthetic subjects meet. There is also a subject network where physical education teachers from several schools meet to collaborate. If necessary, a mentor will be appointed at the school to initially support you in your work.
As a teacher, you view the entire school day of the student as important, and therefore you collaborate with both guardians and colleagues regarding the student. As part of this, the school's and after-school care's activities also collaborate to achieve higher goal fulfillment and create the best conditions for each student. You start from the student group you meet and are expected to create varied and challenging teaching. Using digital tools is a natural part of your teaching.
You promote collegial learning through discussion and reflection at both planned and spontaneous occasions. To benefit students' learning, as well as your own and the development of the organization, you take advantage of the experiences and knowledge of various professions.
Your Workplace
Vallastadens School started in the autumn of 2017 and is housed in modern and stimulating learning environments both indoors and outdoors. It is located in a scenic area, and the outdoor environment offers large spaces with a ball field, forest, barbecue area, and various equipment. Our school has approximately 350 students distributed across two parallel classes and a faculty consisting of 55 employees.

Who You Are
We are primarily looking for someone with a teaching license qualified to teach grades 1-6 in physical education. Alternatively, we are looking for someone with a completed teacher education for grades 1-6. You may also be at the end of your teacher education for grades 1-6. It is an advantage if you have experience teaching grades 1-6 in physical education.
It is a requirement that you have experience working in a curriculum-driven school through practice or as an employee. It is advantageous if you have taught in grades F-6 for at least one school year. It is also advantageous if you have experience assigning grades or documenting students' learning during the school year.
In your role as a teacher in grades F-6, you have good knowledge of the school's mission and are well acquainted with the curriculum (Lgr22) and other governing documents. You have good communication skills in spoken and written Swedish. This is necessary for you to organize and carry out the work so that the student receives support in their language and communication development according to the curriculum (Lgr22). You are responsible for ensuring that each student can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way.
As a teacher in grades F-6, you are a good role model. You have the ability to adapt your teaching to the students and allow them to participate in shaping the teaching. In a quality-conscious manner, you create good conditions for the student's development and learning and document it. You collaborate well with colleagues, guardians, and other contacts in the community that are part of your professional role.
