About the Workplace

Lorensborg Preschool is a smaller preschool with three departments, located near Pildammsparken, green areas, themed playgrounds, and Bellevuegården's library. With electric cargo bikes, we have the opportunity to explore the entire city's offerings, and we often set out with our bikes to explore the local area and the city together with the children.

We actively work with language and communication in various forms, both verbal and non-verbal, as well as other aesthetic expressions. There is a diversity of languages at the preschool that we see as assets that enrich the children's language development.

Our indoor environments should be accessible to all children and adaptable based on their needs and interests. By utilizing the children's knowledge, experiences, and curiosity, we continuously work to change and develop the content of education.

We value experience exchange and collaboration and work closely together at all levels. Close leadership in the form of an assistant principal will support you in your role as a preschool teacher and serve as a sounding board for thoughts and ideas, to support your development and to challenge you in your role as a preschool teacher.

In our principal area, there are also two lead preschool teachers. The management organizes collegial learning through focus groups within the unit and between preschools, for example, during joint development days. The unit has also been working based on the National Agency for Education's professional development program, Läslyftet, for a long time.

Job Responsibilities

As a preschool teacher with us, you work to create a safe, fun, and educational preschool. You lead and develop the educational activities together with the rest of the team. You have a special responsibility for teaching and work with the curriculum as a basis based on each child's knowledge, experiences, and specific conditions. All preschool teachers in Malmö have scheduled time (5 hours/week) for reflection, documentation, and learning with colleagues.

As a preschool teacher, you actively promote each child's individual development and learning in an engaged and joyful manner. With a strong focus on children, you listen to and nurture the child's curiosity, exploration, and desire to learn. You conduct inclusive and engaging teaching based on the school law, curriculum, and other governing documents to develop each child, as well as the learning and social interaction of the entire group.

You are responsible for continuously working with systematic quality work and documentation together with your colleagues to make visible both the group's and each child's learning processes and progress.

We highly value collaboration and good relationships with families and guardians and work with all relationships based on trust and confidence.

The preschool teacher plans and conducts teaching based on the children's projects and interests as well as the goals of the operation. Current goals are developed jointly in dialogues and collaboration between management and preschool teachers. In-depth planning of teaching occurs during team reflections, individual reflection time, and study days for preschool teachers.

Together with your colleagues, you work for a stimulating and accessible educational environment where all children can learn, develop, and meet, and where all children are the focus. We strive to utilize each other's competencies constructively in our areas and together create forums for our preschool teachers to meet and support each other. Together we are stronger.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has a preschool teacher certification. We would like you to contribute with engagement, creativity, and a drive to develop the operation. You meet each child with respect and attentiveness. Of course, you have a professional approach and work for good relationships with guardians and colleagues. You need to have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.

We are looking for someone who is confident in your leadership role as a preschool teacher and wants to help lead Lorensborg Preschool forward in development and learning for both children and adults. We are looking for someone who wants to work with a project-based and exploratory approach based on the children's interests and curiosity.

You are a person who listens to the children and their ideas and allows them to have an influence on the education. A strong aspect of you is your joy in work and your ability to embrace challenges positively. You are interested in collaborating across team boundaries and see collegial learning as a strength in the operation.
