About the Job

Hörby Learning Center gathers several operations with a common mission: to create pathways to studies, work, and increased independence for youth and adults through education, guidance, and coordinated support measures.

The operations include vocational training, SFI, introductory programs, adult education, and the municipal activity responsibility (KAA).

We are now looking for a study and career counselor, responsible for KAA and the introductory programs (IMA and IMS), who wants to take an active and developing role in working with youth aged 16–20 years. The position combines operational guidance work with coordination, follow-up, and development.

You will be part of a guidance team with three full-time positions, organized at Hörby Learning Center. The immediate supervisor is the principal. The team works collaboratively but with clearly defined tasks related to different target groups and school forms, with a particular focus on introductory programs and KAA.

The distribution of focus areas will take place in dialogue after recruitment and based on the needs of the operations and your competencies. The development perspective is central to our work. Study and career guidance is seen as both individual support and a strategic function in the long-term development of the operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Job Responsibilities

In the role of study and career counselor at IM and with coordination responsibility for KAA, you will:

• Identify, map, and follow up on youth within KAA's target group
• Establish individual action plans together with youth, focusing on studies, internships, or work
• Conduct motivating, coaching, and supportive conversations at IM and KAA
• Have follow-up responsibility for students with significant absenteeism at IM and KAA
• Work systematically with documentation, statistics, and follow-up according to applicable regulations
• Contribute to the development and quality assurance of the municipality's IM and KAA work
• Work with both narrow and broad guidance in close collaboration with the principal, teachers, student health, and other functions
• Actively participate in operational development, environmental analysis, and the development of guidance structures
• Build and maintain professional networks within and outside the municipality

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

• Has an academic degree as a study and career counselor,
• Has experience working with youth or young adults in vulnerable or complex life situations,
• Has good knowledge of the municipal activity responsibility and how municipal efforts collaborate with other actors,
• Is confident in your profession and can work both independently and in a team,
• Has a good ability to build trust, establish relationships, and motivate young people,
• Has good analytical skills and experience with systematic follow-up and documentation work,
• Expresses yourself well in spoken and written Swedish,
• Has high digital proficiency and confidence in working with various digital systems,
• Has a B driver's license.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Meritorious

It is meritorious if you have:

• Experience working with KAA
• Experience with introductory programs (IM)
• Training in MI (Motivational Interviewing) or similar conversation methodology
• Experience working with youth who are neither working nor studying
• Experience in development work within guidance, student support, or labor market initiatives
• Digital creativity and experience using digital tools in new and purposeful ways in guidance work
