We are now looking for a special education teacher to work with grades 7–9 at Augustenborg School.
As a special education teacher, you will work specifically with our middle school, focusing particularly on Swedish as a second language and English. Together with subject teachers, lead teachers, and work teams, you will plan, implement, and follow up on teaching at the individual, group, and organizational levels. You will contribute to developing the quality and accessibility of teaching for students in need of support in language and knowledge development. Your responsibilities include teaching students, working with learning environments, supporting teachers in their work with extra adaptations and special support, as well as conducting pedagogical investigations. You are responsible for writing, following up, and evaluating action plans. You will be part of the close student health work at the middle school and collaborate with the school's other special education teachers on school-wide issues. Collaboration also occurs with various professionals in student health and, when necessary, with external actors.
Qualifications
You are a qualified primary school teacher for grades 7–9 with authorization in Swedish as a second language and/or English. You have a special education degree with a focus on language, writing, and reading development or are currently studying to become a special education teacher with a corresponding focus. You have experience teaching at the middle school level and are well-versed in working with students in need of language support. As a special education teacher, or future special education teacher, you can teach, follow up, and assess students' language and knowledge development in Swedish as a second language and English.
You have a very good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing. You have a good understanding of the school's governing documents and the ability to implement them in practice. Didactic and pedagogical skills are central, as well as good digital competence and experience working with relevant digital tools. The school works to develop language-promoting methods and genre pedagogy in all subjects. Experience in this area and working with multilingual students is meritorious.
Personal Competencies
As an employee, you lead yourself in your assignment and take responsibility for both your own and the organization's development work. You easily create trusting relationships with students and colleagues and thrive in a role that is varied and requires both structure and flexibility. You collaborate well, are curious and solution-oriented, and have a clear pedagogical leadership in teaching. You develop your work based on evidence-based research and continuously reflect on your practice.
We look forward to your application.
