Job Description

As an Employment Officer, you will focus on job seekers and employers, and you will be an important support for them, making a difference every day. A central part of the work is to inform and communicate about the Employment Agency's mission, services, as well as rights and obligations. The work requires curiosity with the ability to make the difficult simple.

We are looking for someone who enjoys working more deeply with people who, for various reasons, have difficulty entering the labor market. Your tasks will include identifying job seekers' competencies, obstacles, and motivations to find, obtain, retain, or return to employment. After identification, concrete measures will be developed that should be coordinated and collaborated with relevant partners and authorities. The work may also include guidance, educational initiatives, or the development of job search strategies. You are expected to stay updated on the labor market and employers' recruitment needs.

Our offer

The position is a permanent full-time employment that may start with a six-month probationary period. The place of employment is Umeå.

We offer you the opportunity to work in a workplace where we value the balance between work and private life. After a number of months, when you have learned the job and if the organization allows, there is an opportunity to enter into an agreement for remote work of up to 49%. We also include wellness during working hours and a favorable wellness allowance.

Basic requirements for the position

  • University/higher education of at least 180 higher education credits (120 credits according to the previous system)
  • Alternatively, you have been employed as an Employment Officer at the Employment Agency and are assessed to have good conditions to meet today's requirements for Employment Officers
  • And at least 2 years of work experience, collectively working at least 50% over a total of 2 years
  • Good knowledge of Swedish, that is, good ability to communicate in speech and writing, as well as high reading comprehension
  • B driver's license

Other merits for the position

  • Experience in building relationships with employers
  • Knowledge of how the local labor market looks with competence and recruitment needs
  • Experience and knowledge of collaboration with other actors, such as authorities, municipalities, healthcare institutions, and our contracted service providers
  • Experience and knowledge of working with people with disabilities/ill health
  • Experience in exercising authority
