The Manufacturing/Process engineer is responsible for leading the development and ongoing enhancement of both new and existing processes and equipment. The engineer serves as the primary engineering liaison to Operations throughout all stages of product and equipment life cycles.
This position is part of the Engineering team focused on our reagent on board filling lines and will be located in our Solna manufacturing site. The role is local but we work together with our colleagues at our sites in India and the US to improve globally.
The manufacturing/process engineer is responsible for supporting ROBAL production lines, providing support for validation of new equipment and participating in driving continuous improvement activities. The manufacturing engineer will also be responsible for identifying improvements to existing manufacturing processes on automated assembly lines and actively participate in a hands-on capacity with the modification and upgrading of existing equipment.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Take ownership of production lines, resolve manufacturability issues, and drive improvements for cost and efficiency.
- Support, maintain, improve, modify and further develop the manufacturing lines as needed for sustaining production.
- Lead/participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on material cost reduction, capacity enhancement, and streamlining workflow.
- Support/Lead the validation and qualification activities for new equipment and processes. This includes creating user requirements specifications, validation and production documentation, and conducting risk assessments (d/pFMEA) for processes and equipment.
- Design, document, assemble, qualify and introduce production assembly/test/inspection fixtures and equipment.
- Design and create production equipment, fixtures and tests as needed to build the production line either internally or as needed at suppliers.
- Participate/Lead root cause analysis for process and production nonconformities.
- Monitor, analyze, and enhance machine and process performance by leveraging operational data to identify inefficiencies, implementing corrective actions, and driving continuous improvement across production systems.

The essential requirements of the job include:
- Bachelor or Master of Science in Process/Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
- 3+ years of experience as design or manufacturing engineer or relevant professional experience.
- Strong problem-solving ability, including demonstrated ability to effectively design, execute, report on, and draw conclusions from experiments.
- Proficient in validation of equipment and processes.
- Excellent communication, written and oral presentation skills in English.
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
- Ability to travel to the US.
- Ability to work in a laboratory environment.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Experience in the medical device field.
- 3D CAD skills (Solidworks preferred).
- Experienced in using and creating P&I Diagrams.
