Test Cell Engineer in Battery Safety & Abuse

Then you might be the Test Cell Engineer in Battery Safety & Abuse we are looking for to join our team in Södertälje. With us, you will have the chance to work in one of the most exciting technology areas within battery development – ensuring that tomorrow's batteries are safe, robust, and ready for reality.

In the role of Test Cell Engineer, you will work hands-on in the test cell and play a central role in verifying battery safety and performance. Approximately 50% of your working time will be spent outdoors. You will, among other things:

  • Conduct safety tests to verify that the battery safety systems function according to specifications
  • Perform abuse tests to analyze and mitigate the effects of thermal runaway
  • Prepare and configure test rigs prior to conducting tests
  • Mechanically assemble, disassemble, and adapt equipment and test items
  • Collaborate with the test engineer and customer to conduct measurements and document results.
  • Perform technical troubleshooting
  • Document work and ensure quality of results according to given procedures
  • Coordinate deliveries

To succeed in this role, we would like you to:

  • Have good collaboration skills and enjoy working closely with colleagues.
  • Have solid knowledge of electrical systems and safety
  • Be practical, meticulous, and experienced in working with electrical and mechanical equipment
  • Have a strong drive and enjoy taking responsibility in your work
  • Work in a structured and analytical manner even in a changing environment
  • Have at least two years of documented experience in a relevant technical field
  • Be computer literate and experienced with the Office suite
  • Be flexible and solution-oriented
  • Master both Swedish and English in speech and writing
  • Have a valid B driving license

Meritorious: Experience in battery testing, working in technical laboratory environments, and/or working with lithium-ion batteries.
