Summer Job for Landscape Architect or Landscape Engineer

We are looking for students studying to become Landscape Architects or Landscape Engineers who want to experience working life and the operations within the municipality. The requirement is that you have completed at least one year of your studies, preferably more. The Street and Park Unit is a client organization responsible for public spaces within Norrtälje Municipality. Currently, the unit has one landscape engineer and three landscape architects who together are responsible for investment projects, design issues, and planned maintenance of our urban spaces, parks, playgrounds, green corridors, and nature close to urban areas.

As a summer employee, you will gain insight into what it means to work with issues across a broad spectrum from planning to implementation and management. As a student employee, you will have the opportunity to apply your academic knowledge with assignments within our operations. As a person, you are structured, self-driven, and meticulous.

Local knowledge and relevant work experience are advantageous.

Job Responsibilities

The job responsibilities include inventories, review of documents, documentation, and preparation of program documents and order specifications.

Inventory of green corridors, walking and cycling paths with a focus on ecosystem services, climate adaptation, and accessibility. Inventory of parks related to the park plan with photo documentation. Evaluation and documentation of summer pedestrian streets and compilation of results for next year's summer pedestrian streets.

Time Frame

The work is scheduled for the period from June 15 to July 10 and from August 3 to August 28. Summer break during weeks 29, 30, and 31.

Salary

Hourly wage.

Location

The work is conducted on-site 100%.
