Job Description

We have a high demand for engineers in structural mechanics and are looking for new employees for our calculation department in Stockholm.

As a Calculation Engineer in structural mechanics with us, you will work with various types of simulations and analyses for several of AFRY's world-leading clients. The assignments may vary in both size and content, and will be carried out either at AFRY's office or on-site with our clients.

You will have the opportunity to drive your own projects with significant personal responsibility to meet set goals. Your work will be an important part of the section's ongoing efforts towards the defense and automotive industries. There are therefore good opportunities to shape your own role and influence the department's operations.

Your tasks will primarily include technical deliveries, meaning conducting structural analyses (FEA) and reporting the results of these, as well as discussing and implementing design changes to improve the products you work with. You will also have the opportunity to act as a mentor and support your less experienced colleagues.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with an academic education in technical physics, mechanical engineering, or similar, and at least 5 years of work experience in structural mechanics. You have experience from the automotive or defense industry and have worked with various types of analyses, including fatigue and/or crash/dynamics.

You are proficient in commercial calculation software such as ANSYS, ABAQUS, LS-Dyna, or similar, and can use these fluently to perform advanced analyses/simulations. You use analytical calculations as a complement to ensure the quality of your FE analyses.

As a person, you are analytical, have a good understanding of the necessary quality in your deliveries, and always strive to do the best work possible. You are also a good communicator and have the ability to explain complex technical problems to those around you.

You have high social competence and appreciate collaborating with your colleagues to achieve good results and set goals together.

Since the position involves work with clients in the defense industry, Swedish citizenship is a requirement.
