HVAC Engineers Wanted at the Fortifications Agency

The Fortifications Agency is seeking HVAC engineers for the newly established design unit. Do you have several years of experience as a design HVAC engineer for complex HVAC and cooling systems? The mission of the Fortifications Agency is to meet the needs of the Armed Forces and other defense-related authorities for suitable properties. We build, own, manage, and operate many different types of properties and facilities.

The task of the design unit is to carry out design work in-house, and the operation is currently being established. To take on the projects ahead of us, we need to expand our team and broaden our expertise in more technical areas.

What does an HVAC engineer do at the Fortifications Agency?

You will work on projects and assist with your specialist expertise in sizing, construction, and design of complex HVAC systems for both new and renovation projects. You will produce documents for various types of buildings and facilities in all design phases. During the establishment of the unit, you will largely work in early stages together with other specialists in the team. In your role as an HVAC engineer in the design unit, you will need your knowledge of ventilation and piping, as well as heating and cooling.

Additional tasks may occur, and in your role, you will have many internal and external contacts. Planned travel within Sweden may be included in the position. Regular tasks require you to work on-site at the office. The position is currently located in Lovön, but will move to a central location in Stockholm in 2026.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a vocational education in HVAC or other education and experience we consider equivalent. You have several years of experience working with BIM design of complex HVAC systems and have worked in all phases from program documents to finished construction documents. You are very accustomed to producing documents and drawings using industry-specific programs and applications, such as MagiCAD for Revit and AutoCAD.

Experience in designing HVAC installations for fortification facilities, hospitals, or industrial environments with special media is an advantage. A relevant degree from a college or university is also meritorious.

For the role, excellent knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form is required, as well as good knowledge of English. A Class B driver's license is a requirement.

About the employment

The position is a permanent employment and may start with a probationary period. As a permanent employee, you will be assigned to a military position. The place of employment is Stockholm. Employment with us requires Swedish citizenship and involves placement in a security class. A security check with a background check will be conducted before employment in accordance with Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act.
