This is a workplace and a position for you who want to make a difference in the societal development we are in. Each of us cannot turn the tide of development, but together we can contribute to a difference for those we meet, creating change!
The Youth Team works together with young people and parents who are concerned about crime or addiction. A large part of the work involves motivating parents, gathering families, and mobilizing networks to achieve the changes that make a difference. We encounter a broad target group, often individuals with many risk factors and few protective factors. To create good conditions for change, we work from a systems theory perspective and with a family-focused approach, adapting both our organization and our methods and knowledge accordingly. The Youth Team consists of six therapists, and part of the work is done in collaboration with nurses and doctors within Region Stockholm.
We and our operations are in constant development based on the needs we encounter, so we try new working methods and solutions; we are creative and flexible, we improve and change – which creates a dynamic workplace with high satisfaction and good results in employee surveys.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
When you work with us, you will:
- Meet young people with norm-breaking behaviors, where we work with the whole family to strengthen protective factors and reduce risk factors for criminal identity development
- Be part of our work with the Social Intervention Group (SIG) as a therapist for the family
- Work with Support for Placed Youth to shorten the time in round-the-clock care through a change process at home that creates conditions for continued good development after placement
- Mainly work with family therapy but also with individual treatments
- Conduct substance use assessments, motivational interventions, and addiction treatments together with the youth and their parents within the framework of Mini-Maria
- Design interventions and create implementation plans based on the assignment and document according to current guidelines
- Collaborate closely with various internal and external actors around the young person and their family, such as other IFO, police, psychiatry, and school
- And contribute to exploring the opportunities for open interventions that the new Social Services Act provides us!
We work with various evidence-based methods according to the National Board of Health and Welfare's guidelines, such as Functional Family Therapy (FFT) and various methods for structured CBT treatment. Our approach is strongly influenced by MI, and we use Feedback Informed Treatment (FIT) to ensure that the interventions we offer make a difference for those we meet.
In addition, we work with information for parents and school staff through lectures, training, and workshops. We collaborate with other actors who work with the same age group, such as field operations and student health teams.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with experience working therapeutically with youth who have norm-breaking behavior such as crime and/or substance abuse and enjoys working with this target group. You also have experience working with family therapy.
You have a basic education as a social worker or another behavioral science degree deemed equivalent by the employer, and it is meritorious if you have:
- Training in Functional Family Therapy (FFT) or another family therapy education with a systems theory foundation
- Knowledge of and experience with MI and/or Feedback Informed Treatment (FIT)
- Training in and experience with CBT methods such as Crime as a Lifestyle, CPU, CRA/A-CRA, RePulse, ÅP
You should be able to actively work to utilize the resources available to the individual and their network, which requires a good ability to build alliances and create relationships, as well as a liking for challenges. You need to be flexible and solution-focused to meet the needs for individual solutions required in our assignments.
You should have a good ability to work in teams both around operational issues and within specific cases, but also be independently driven and take significant personal responsibility in your cases, which requires structural ability.
