Our ambition is to be at the forefront of innovative solutions, smart working methods, and an efficient organization. As an employee, you play an important role in the development work. The municipality as a workplace is characterized by a consensus between politics and operations, where the common interest and responsibility for the best of Vallentuna shines through. Approach, accessibility, and customer focus are important in our work for good results and increased quality.
Engagement, collaboration, and equal value for all should permeate our organization. You who are applying should of course share our common values.
About the Organization
You will be part of Youth Leisure, which consists of the municipality's meeting places for young people and field operations. The organization works to ensure that young people have a safe and inclusive environment where they can pursue their interests, be involved, and create projects and events themselves. Here we work closely with the everyday lives of young people and continuously develop methods and activities that strengthen young people's influence and well-being.
The field group consists of three dedicated employees who work socially preventively and health-promoting with a focus on safety and relationships. The group has a strong team spirit, supports each other in everyday life, and works strategically together with the police, social services, schools, youth centers, and guardians. Fieldwork is an important part of Youth Leisure's whole – a mobile, present, and relationship-building function that captures what happens in the moment and contributes to young people feeling seen, heard, and involved.
Job Responsibilities
As a field assistant within Youth Leisure, you work relationship-building, outreach, and preventive with a focus on young people's safety and well-being. You build trusting relationships and are present where young people move – in schools, at meeting places, and in public environments – to early capture needs and prevent conflicts and risk behaviors through presence and dialogue. The work is carried out in close collaboration with schools, social services, police, and guardians to create a common and sustainable direction. You also contribute to planning and implementing activities and events that strengthen positive contexts, and use digital tools and social media for communication and contact. The assignment is operational and mobile with varied working hours and requires energy, flexibility, and initiative.
You are a secure and engaged adult who meets young people at eye level, captures the atmosphere in the moment, and creates positive contexts. A central part of the role is the desire to create activities and operations together with young people. You work preventively through presence, dialogue, and collaboration and have the ability to remain calm even when it gets intense.
As a field assistant within Youth Leisure, you get a job where every day feels real and important. You are close to young people's everyday lives and build relationships that matter – while you develop yourself. The position suits you who thrive in movement and enjoy variety. The work is scheduled both during the day, evenings, and weekends.
