Within the social administration, the operations are responsible for providing support and services according to LSS (the Act on Support and Service for Certain Disabled Persons). LSS is a rights-based law that guarantees individuals with extensive and permanent disabilities good living conditions, the assistance they need in daily life, and the ability to influence the support and services they receive.

We are looking for a support pedagog for one of our group homes.

A group home is a residence with special services according to LSS. Here, six individuals live in their own apartments, and there are shared spaces. The residence is staffed around the clock.

Your mission as a support pedagog is to place the individual’s needs, abilities, and interests at the center. You are responsible for supporting the individual in a pedagogical and motivating way to maintain and develop their abilities and independence.

You are responsible for providing individualized support and services, which includes all tasks such as household chores, personal care, and leisure activities.

As a support pedagog, you have an extended responsibility to support the team in common working methods based on various pedagogical models, methods, and tools. You will support the team in using different types of alternative and augmentative communication, ensure the team works systematically with mapping, follow-up, and evaluation, and that the team applies an ethical approach that promotes the individual's self-determination, integrity, and participation.

You, together with the support assistant, are responsible for establishing implementation plans with the individual and following their and the organization’s routines. Listening to the individual’s wishes and needs, documenting, implementing, and following up are important parts of your mission. It also includes collaborating with key individuals in the person’s life.

You will lead quality meetings with the team together with the unit manager.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is attentive, empathetic, and engaged. You are trained as a support assistant, nursing assistant, childcare worker, or equivalent, and have a post-secondary specialization in the disability field that includes at least 200 vocational training points or 60 higher education credits (or a combination that corresponds to at least two semesters of full-time studies). Previous experience working with individuals with intellectual, physical, neuropsychiatric, or mental disabilities is an advantage.

Good computer skills and experience with digital aids. Strong ability to express yourself in speech and writing. Personal suitability will be highly valued.

Conditions

We are looking for a support pedagog for a permanent position at 100%. The position includes a certain percentage of administrative time. The remaining time is linked to the team’s schedule.

Scheduled working hours day/evening, weekend. Start date according to agreement. Monthly salary, individual salary setting applies.
