Part-time assistant needed for a woman in Hägersten

IGS Assistans AB is now looking for a flexible personal assistant for part-time employment with one of our clients in Hägersten.

About the position

We are looking for someone who does not necessarily want to work a lot, but who can be available at short notice, especially during urgent needs such as illness or childcare.

Ideally, you live in Hägersten or Älvsjö and have a daily routine that allows for quick engagements – perhaps you are studying remotely, working from home, or are on your way back to work after parental leave (with the possibility of babysitting if needed).

We are primarily looking for someone who is an early riser and can work day shifts between 07:00–16:00, but there are also shifts available in the evening (16:00–24:00).

About the client

The client is a wheelchair-bound woman in her 40s with Cerebral Palsy and some speech difficulties. She describes her needs as follows:

”As a personal assistant, you are my support in everyday life so that my life functions in the best way. I want to decide what and how, but I need help to plan and execute things. I am an active and cheerful girl who uses an electric wheelchair and enjoys being outdoors, meeting friends, chatting, dancing, and traveling. I attend daily activities and sometimes physical therapy. It is important that you can express yourself well in speech and writing as I sometimes need help with communication. If you also have an interest in computers, that is a plus.”

Job responsibilities

As a personal assistant, you will work in the client's home and act as her extended arms and legs. You will assist with what the client would have done herself if she did not have her disability – without taking over what she can manage on her own.

The work includes, among other things:

• Assistance with transfers and personal hygiene
• Cooking, cleaning, and other household chores
• Support with activities outside the home
• Help with communication and planning as needed

We are looking for someone who is:

• Detail-oriented, responsible, and flexible
• Attentive to the client's needs and wishes
• Professional in your approach and values the client's privacy
• Respectful of the fact that the work takes place in someone else's home
• Patient and comfortable with the fact that the work may sometimes involve quieter moments

We welcome female applicants aged 30–55, but personal maturity and life experience are more important than age.
