IGS Assistans is looking for an initiative-taking and dedicated personal assistant for a 53-year-old man living in Södermalm. The client has a neurological condition that has led to dementia and impaired balance. He uses a wheelchair and has limited communication ability.

About the position

We are looking for someone who can work fixed hours two Thursdays a month from 08:00–16:00 or 09:00–15:30. During these shifts, you will accompany the client to the swimming pool, which means you must be able to swim and feel comfortable in the water.

The work is always performed together with an experienced colleague (double-staffed shifts).

If the collaboration goes well, there is the possibility of a fixed schedule two Thursdays a month.

Job responsibilities

As a personal assistant, you will support the client in his daily life and contribute to safety, structure, and quality of life.

The work includes, among other things:

• Assistance with communication
• Support with personal hygiene
• Cooking and light household chores
• Cleaning and daily routines
• Participation in activities such as swimming and exercise

We are looking for someone who

• Has experience working as a personal assistant or in care and support
• Speaks fluent Swedish.
• Is confident in taking initiatives while being attentive to the client's needs
• Is empathetic, responsible, and professional
• Is flexible and shows respect for the client's privacy and home
• Has good teamwork skills and personal maturity
• Has experience working with individuals with dementia (meritorious)
• Can swim and enjoys being in water (requirement)
