We need another firefighter for one of our four shift teams. At Gällivare Fire Department, you will work as one of 5 players in a small organization. We have a large geographical area to manage, ranging from mines to mountains and vast mountain forests. Most of the municipality's residents live in Gällivare town, where our full-time station is also centrally located. In our villages, we have five rescue stations that assist us by being the first on the scene and providing initial help. We handle about 300 alarms per year. We also collaborate with our neighboring municipalities and the industrial fire brigades in the area. Job Responsibilities

As a firefighter with us, we want you to engage in our various areas of operation based on your interests and suitability. You will work with accident prevention tasks such as supervision, information, and training, so we want you to be good at talking to people and building trust. When the alarm goes off, you are one of us who must be able to handle the situation as quickly as possible in a professional and effective manner. To do this, we need to practice and maintain our vehicles and equipment. We work shifts with work every other weekend.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has the interest, will, and ability to help others. You need to demonstrate judgment and act calmly, steadily, and controlled in pressured situations. The profession requires practical, physical, and social skills. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability. It is important that you have a positive attitude, are a good team player, and can also work independently. Prior to employment, interviews and job-related and physical tests will be conducted.

  • Driver's license minimum B
  • Approved treadmill test according to AFS 2007:7 (not older than 3 months) attached to the application.
  • Good swimming skills minimum Gold Badge certificate attached to the application
  • Able to work at heights and not have a tendency for claustrophobia.
  • Good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form.

Meritorious

  • MSB's training SMO (Accident Protection) or equivalent training
  • Driving license category CE
  • Language skills in other languages such as Sami, Finnish, Meänkieli
  • First aid training for emergency care, chainsaw certificate, other relevant vocational training or experience from previous relevant work.
  • Work experience as a firefighter
