The Culture and Leisure Administration in Sigtuna Municipality works to promote cultural and leisure activities in the municipality; we are a workplace that wants to make a difference! We are a politically governed service organization where our clients are the residents. We work together in our various operations to find new ideas and solutions that contribute to residents' quality of life, sustainability, and health, as well as increased integration and combating exclusion.

The administration consists of five operational areas that include:

• Leisure, sports, swimming pool, ice rink, and association activities
• Performing arts, film, theater, art, music, museums, libraries, and cultural heritage
• Youth culture, leisure activities, and cultural school

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Are you an engaged and present leader who wants to make a difference for both staff and youth? We are looking for someone who wants to take responsibility for an operation where creativity, activity, and safety meet, and where your leadership plays a significant role in everyday life.

The open youth activities in Sigtuna Municipality are based on international and national principles, including European principles and guidelines for local open leisure and youth activities. The operation is monitored and measured through membership in KEKS, a network for quality and governance within youth activities.

The role suits you if you are goal-oriented, structured, and confident in your leadership role, and if you build strong relationships with both staff and youth. You have previous experience leading staff and a good understanding of working in youth activities. You thrive in an operational role where you are present in the activities and a natural part of both staff and youth's everyday life. The work may require you to be on-site during evenings and weekends.

As a manager, you currently oversee twelve leisure leaders and a number of hourly employees, distributed across two youth centers and our mobile operation. A community-driven youth center in Rosersberg is also under your responsibility to support and follow up. The mobile operation works proactively and preventively in collaboration with other municipal operations and the association sector. You lead an environment that combines creative creation with physical activity, where music production, dance, digital creation, film production, and gaming meet sports and movement. During afternoons and evenings, the operation gathers a large number of youth, creating a lively and energetic environment where your leadership is crucial for safety and direction.

In this role, you actively work to build a strong and sustainable workgroup where community, job satisfaction, and professional development are at the center. You are a responsive leader who motivates and creates conditions for employees to grow in their roles. At the same time, you have a clear focus on the needs of the youth and work long-term to ensure that the operation is a safe, stimulating, and inclusive place where young people feel seen and involved. Here, you have the opportunity to combine an engaged personnel leadership with a clear social mission and to lead an operation that makes a difference every day.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a university degree, such as a social worker, behavioral scientist with a focus on children and youth, or equivalent education. You have previous experience as a manager or leader in a relevant field and have had both personnel and budget responsibility. You have experience in change management and have preferably completed some form of leadership training beyond your regular university education, such as specialization or further training in leadership, group development, or personnel management.

We would like you to have an understanding of and/or experience with methods such as MVP, EGL, and group development, as well as being familiar with MI and coaching leadership. Finally, experience from a politically governed organization, such as a municipality, region, or authority, is also an advantage.

We are looking for a person who works in an organized and goal-oriented manner, who finds it easy to plan their work and ensure that tasks are completed on time. You are driven to achieve good results and set ambitious goals for yourself. Under pressure, you maintain calm and a positive attitude. You readily take initiative in social situations and quickly build new contacts. When obstacles arise, you quickly find practical and effective solutions.
