The girl has autism and an intellectual disability, which means she needs help, support, and supervision. You will need to assist her during meals, personal hygiene, some dressing and undressing, and in communication with others, as she cannot always express what she wants or understand what others want.

She loves to play!! During the summer, one of her biggest interests is going down to the lake to swim, so you must be a good swimmer. In winter, most of the time is spent indoors playing, but in spring and summer, there is a lot of outdoor time if the weather is good!

The family consists of parents, an older sister, and an older brother. At home, we mostly speak English as the father is American, but also Swedish. Sometimes it’s a mix of Swedish and English, and sometimes you must be able to answer questions about what something is called in Swedish or English, so fluent Swedish is a plus. However, fluent English is a requirement.

The family lives in Tomtebo in Umeå, close to a bus stop for local transport, so if you live with access to local transport, a driver’s license/car is not a requirement.

Since the girl attends a special needs primary school and a special needs after-school program, shifts are usually scheduled in the morning from 05-07, afternoon/evening Monday-Friday from 15.55-18.55, and Saturdays/Sundays from 08-14 and 14-19, as well as full days on holidays and breaks. We are looking for substitutes who can work extra.
