Unit Managers for SiS Legal Department
The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial problems and for adults with substance abuse issues. SiS also implements secure care for youth. We do this in youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse throughout the country. At SiS, your work life will be an exciting challenge. No matter where you work in our organization or what position you hold, you help create life-changing transformations.
At our headquarters in Solna Business Park, we have about 350 employees, and together we work to support and develop the authority with approximately 4000 employees.
Job Description
Do you want to be part of a development journey in a socially important organization? SiS is an authority in transition, and we are looking for someone who wants to contribute to our important societal mission.
The SiS Legal Department is growing, and we are now seeking two unit managers for newly established units within the section for administrative law, the unit for legal quality review, and the unit for administrative law. The positions involve personnel responsibility for employees at each unit, as well as budget and operational responsibility for each unit and its work.
In addition to the section for administrative law, the Legal Department consists of three other sections: the sections for operational law, information provision, and registration and public documents. The work in the Legal Department is characterized by high accessibility for the organization as we work broadly across the entire authority.
The Legal Department is led by a chief legal officer and four section managers. A new managerial level is now being established within the department, unit manager, who reports to the section manager. The section for administrative law is responsible for legal governance, support, and follow-up regarding legal issues that are cross-authority. The section is also responsible for the development and follow-up of the authority's common decision-making and preparation processes. The section is responsible, among other things, for providing legal support to the headquarters, responding to referrals, and handling cases for the authority's personnel responsibility committee.
The unit for legal quality review will, among other things, work on quality review of the authority's decision-making processes and decisions, work with the authority's work and delegation order, train the headquarters' staff in legal matters, and provide legal support in development work.
The unit for administrative law will, among other things, work on providing advice and support in legal matters to the headquarters' departments and be responsible for case handling in various types of cases, e.g., referrals from the Chancellor of Justice and the Parliamentary Ombudsman, as well as cases for the authority's personnel responsibility committee.
As a unit manager, you will be responsible for ensuring quality within the unit's area of responsibility and for leading, following up, and developing the work in the unit towards set goals. As a manager within SiS, you take responsibility for the whole, drive development, and promote good collaboration.
Qualifications
At SiS, we care about good leadership. This means that you as a manager and leader take responsibility for the whole, act as a good role model, drive development, promote good collaboration, and are clear in your communication. Read more about our leadership.
You should have:
- A law degree comprising at least 270 credits.
- Completed court clerk service.
- Several years of experience in qualified legal work within the public sector.

It is meritorious if you have:
- Managerial experience with personnel, budget, and operational responsibility.
- Experience working at the Government Offices.
