About the Job
As a department coordinator, you play an important role in managing internal and external governance. Within the department for operational support, you are responsible for supporting the department head and management team in the work of operational planning, follow-up, risk analysis, continuity planning, preparation of decision-making materials, and annual reports. You also support the department head in planning and following up on government assignments and are responsible for conducting qualified investigations and analyses to inform the department head's decisions.
As a department coordinator, you are also important for the entire agency. You collaborate closely with the Planning and Governance Unit on agency-wide issues regarding operational planning, goals, and follow-up. Your collaboration is essential to ensure a uniform and effective governance of the entire organization. You are part of the agency's coordination forum, where you contribute your expertise to improve coordination between different departments. Additionally, you participate in working groups both within the department and at the agency-wide level.
Your role also includes preparing incoming assignments and questions for the department, coordinating department meetings and planning days, working with the department's work and delegation order, and handling consultation responses.
As a coordinator in the department, you are my management support and play a key role in ensuring that the work in the department runs smoothly.
The Department for Operational Support has approximately 120 employees and provides support to the organization in matters of planning and governance, finance, HR, communication, local supply, and procurement. You have a central role in the department, and the work involves many contacts and collaboration with other departments. You will utilize your collaborative skills and ability to find solutions to problems while your work contributes to the future of both the department, the Swedish National Agency for Education, and ultimately the entire school system.
You will work in our modern and spacious office in Solna Business Park. You may also have the opportunity to work up to 50% remotely.

In this job, you should have:
- a university degree with a focus on financial management, political science, communication, or other education that we deem relevant,
- experience in coordination and quality assurance work,
- experience in operational planning and follow-up,
- documented good ability to express yourself in writing and verbally.
It is an advantage if you have experience working in support functions in a politically governed organization. It is also advantageous if you have experience in change management, leading assignments, and operational development.
As a person, you need to
- have the ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues and others to achieve common goals and solve tasks together,
- be able to identify and prioritize activities that directly contribute to achieving the organization's goals, including setting clear objectives, evaluating progress, and ensuring results are achieved within given timeframes,
- be able to organize and structure work to achieve goals and deadlines,
- have the ability to analyze complex problems, identify solutions, and effectively implement them.
