Göteborgs Stadsmission is a non-profit organization driven by ideas that works to support people living in vulnerable life situations. Together we want to create a Gothenburg where everyone is included. A city where we meet the person, not the problem.

ABOUT US

Mötesplats Nordost is a newly started operation based in Kortedala. The operation will, in close collaboration with residents and local actors, identify needs and develop local social initiatives. The meeting place is aimed at anyone in need of support, with a particular focus on and adaptation for parents and children aged 0–12 years.

Mötesplats Nordost will serve as a bridge to the existing structures and initiatives of society, with the goal of building trust, strengthening networks, and promoting participation and social mobilization in the area.

The purpose of the operation is to strengthen people's participation in society, increase the ability to influence their own life situation, and contribute to reduced social and economic vulnerability in the area.

As a newly started meeting place, the operation is in a development phase where relationship-building work, trust, and local presence are central. The content of the operation will be shaped together with the target group and developed based on needs identified over time.

Initially, Mötesplats Nordost will offer:

• open meeting place
• advice and support
• thematic meetings
• activities for parents and children in social and/or economic vulnerability
• study support for children in middle school age

The assignment is changeable and will continuously develop through dialogue, participation, and collaboration with residents and local actors in northeastern Gothenburg.

ABOUT THE POSITION

We are now looking for part-time staff/temp workers for Mötesplats Nordost in Kortedala. The need for part-time staff varies over time, especially as the operation is being built up. The number of shifts may therefore vary during different periods.

• Shifts: at least 2.5 hours, max 8 hours
• Working hours: mainly weekdays from 08:00 to 19:00
• Weekend shifts may occur

As part-time staff, you will work together with regular staff and sometimes also with volunteers. The assignment is operational and relationship-building, with close contact with the target group.

You meet people where they are in life and are involved in:

• Creating safe and inclusive contexts
• Motivating and engaging the target group based on their own goals and needs
• Preparing and restoring premises practically before and after activities

WHO ARE YOU?

You are an engaged, social, and goal-oriented person with a strong desire to contribute to a more equal and humane society. You enjoy working closely with people and are comfortable interacting with both children and adults.

We would like you to:

• Have experience working with parents and/or children
• Have worked on relationship-building and family-strengthening
• Enjoy working in an operation that is under development

As a person, you are:

• Secure, attentive, and relationship-building
• Unpretentious, organized, and responsible
• Flexible and solution-oriented
• Comfortable collaborating and taking initiative

QUALIFICATIONS

- High school diploma (required)

It is an advantage if you have:

• Post-secondary education relevant to the assignment
• Language skills in Arabic and/or Somali
• Driver's license
• Experience in area-based work
• Worked in areas with socio-economic challenges
• Local knowledge of Kortedala or northeastern Gothenburg
