Fjällängsskolan is located in lower Torvalla, about 10 minutes from the center of Östersund. The school is an F-6 school with approximately 300 students. The school is organized into age-homogeneous classes with associated after-school activities. We work health-oriented and utilize our fantastic outdoor environment in learning. We are one of Östersund's primary schools that serve as a training school. Here, teacher students studying at MIUN can do their practical training. Our educators receive continuous training and professional development for their roles as mentors.

Your new job

We are now looking for a teacher for grades 3-6 with a qualification in textile crafts for 50% at Fjällängsskolan, starting immediately or by agreement until June. Working hours are scheduled for Mondays and Tuesdays according to the timetable.

You will be part of a team of teachers who together plan and are responsible for the students' education and development. Your focus will be on creating the best conditions for each student in a safe and trusting environment. You will teach students in grades 3-6 in the subject of textile crafts, where you educate and support students in their social and academic development. You challenge students to take their own initiatives, develop their interests, and take responsibility for themselves and others.

Common tasks

  • Plan and conduct teaching according to the curriculum

Your competence

Requirements

  • Licensed teacher with qualifications to teach crafts for grades 3-6
  • You have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written

Meritorious

  • It is meritorious if you have previous experience in the school.
  • You have good knowledge of the school's governing documents and can apply these in daily work.
  • You have a strong interest in developing teaching and supporting students in their learning process.
  • Your view of students aligns with the curriculum's fundamental values.
  • You have a great interest in pedagogical challenges and dare to challenge yourself and your colleagues to think about development.
  • You have good computer skills, and it is meritorious if you have worked with digital systems aimed at schools.
  • It is meritorious if you have previous work experience.

You have a good understanding of people's differences and relate to them in a responsive and flexible manner in teaching and school life.
