Nyheden is a school for grades 7-9 with about 215 students. We work closely together to create holistic solutions for the students. Our work is based on the student's opportunity for development and learning throughout the day. We have a high proportion of qualified teachers and we strive for a good working environment for both students and staff. Nyheden School works purposefully with knowledge, safety, and well-being.

The Department of Education and Child Care has about 800 employees. The department's activities extend across the entire municipality and include preschool, elementary school grades F-9, adapted elementary school, after-school care, nutrition and cleaning, mother tongue, and library services.

A Day as a Natural Science Teacher at Nyheden School

As a Natural Science teacher at Nyheden School, you will meet engaged students and colleagues who want to move forward together. You plan and implement teaching based on clear goals and shared structures - always with the student's learning in focus.

In several classes, we work with co-teaching, which means that you plan and teach together with a colleague. This provides more support for the students, greater flexibility in teaching, and good opportunities for collegial learning.

The day can include everything from joint presentations and problem-solving in pairs to laboratory activities and digital work. You follow up on students' knowledge development and work closely with both mentors and student health to create the best possible conditions for learning.

Collaboration within work teams is a natural part of everyday life with us. We share experiences, plan common themes, and support each other in developing teaching.

Your Competence

Requirements:

• Teaching degree with qualifications to teach Natural Science in grades 7-9
• Good ability to create structure, study peace, and engagement in the classroom
• Ability to adapt teaching based on students' different needs and conditions
• Good collaborative skills and willingness to contribute to the school's joint development work
• Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.

Meritorious Qualities:

• Subject combination with mathematics, technology, or Swedish
• Experience teaching in middle school
• Experience with assessment, grading, and digital learning tools
• Experience working with formative teaching and collegial learning
• Interest in development work, equity, and student influence

Other Information

The position is a permanent position. Start date according to agreement.
