About the Position

With us, you have the opportunity to contribute to a socially important mission in an industry facing exciting challenges and developments.

We are now looking for experienced power system specialists for our operations in Sundbyberg to support the maintenance and development of SCADA/EMS applications that form the basis for the operational monitoring system used by Svenska kraftnät's control room, according to the role description below.

The Role Involves:

  • supporting the team and surrounding operations/projects with your knowledge and experience in the field, e.g., participating in planning and implementation of improvement work, collaboration within both Svenska kraftnät, national and international forums, as well as contact with DSOs, etc.
  • participating in daily work, e.g., configuration, troubleshooting, and investigations, as well as acting as support and assistance to the operations.
  • participating in the improvement and development of current and new applications.
  • contributing to the continuous development of the team's work routines and processes.

The work may include day duty (support) in a rolling schedule during normal office hours. On-call duty may also occur.

Development Opportunities

  • As an experienced power system specialist, you will drive development within one or more technical areas, providing an opportunity to deepen your knowledge in a specific subject.
  • As an experienced power system specialist, you may also work on projects, for example, in connection with the introduction of new functions or systems. Projects are often carried out cross-functionally in collaboration with experts at Svenska kraftnät, and in some cases with other industry players.
  • Opportunity to develop as a leader without being a manager, e.g., as a mentor or sub-project leader.

The Units

The units Operational Monitoring and Analysis Functions are responsible for the management of decision support for the control room related to monitoring and optimization of the power system's operation.

This includes daily operational maintenance as well as short- and long-term development of SCADA and Energy Management System (EMS) applications and other optimization functionalities. The Analysis Functions unit also includes on-call duty.

The unit consists of employees with varying backgrounds, ages, and genders. The units possess deep expertise in SCADA/EMS.

About You

Required Qualifications:

You also have: A technical master's degree or equivalent from a university or college in electrical engineering, or work experience that Svenska kraftnät assesses as equivalent.

  • Acquired knowledge in power system analysis or SCADA/EMS/DMS systems through education or work experience (>3 years of combined work experience in the field)
  • Work experience in the electrical power field (>5 years of combined work experience in the field)
  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English in both spoken and written form

It is meritorious if you have knowledge and experience of:

  • modeling the power system using CIM and particularly CGMES
  • power system analysis tools such as PSS/E, PowerFactory, or Neplan
  • programming skills, e.g., C/C++, Python, SQL, Java, or Shell scripting in Linux
  • Experience collaborating with/between DSOs/TSOs

  • The work is on-site and no remote work is available
