About the Workplace

The Admissions Department is responsible for national and international admissions to the university's undergraduate and graduate programs. The department works to coordinate and develop the admissions process with a focus on service, efficiency, and legal certainty. The department provides support and service to faculties, institutions, and applicants regarding admission to the university.

Job Responsibilities

We are looking for someone who wants to join our team at Lund University's Admissions Department. You will work with processing applications for our programs and participate in the development of our support for applicants and students.

We constantly strive to streamline all parts of the admissions process while maintaining good quality and high legal certainty. The position will primarily focus on student contact and being a support for those applying to the university's programs. This includes providing service and information to students via email and phone. You will also work with a colleague to develop our support for applicants as a whole.

Additional responsibilities based on the role include:

  • Processing applications for independent courses and programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The processing mainly occurs in the national admissions system NyA.
  • Providing service to institutional staff regarding applications and admissions.

Job responsibilities may vary.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A higher education degree of at least three years.
  • A very good ability to communicate well in both Swedish and English, both in writing and verbally.
  • Knowledge of the Swedish higher education system.
  • Good knowledge of the Office suite and strong digital skills.

We seek someone with a strong sense of service who enjoys meeting applicants and students via email and phone. Security and high integrity are essential, and you remain calm even when the pace is high. Accuracy and attention to detail are combined with the ability to see the bigger picture. You identify improvement opportunities in processes and contribute solutions. You have a good ability to lead yourself and take responsibility for your assignments while meeting deadlines. Good collaboration skills, a communicative approach, and flexibility enable you to create and maintain contacts easily. You also find it easy to familiarize yourself with new tasks, digital systems, and manage large amounts of information.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

It is advantageous to have:

  • Current experience in providing support to students, as well as customer or citizen-related work, where you have daily handled a large number of cases in both Swedish and English with a focus on quality and professional treatment.
  • Current experience in working service-oriented with a good approach, including the ability to clearly, factually, and respectfully say no.
  • Current experience in streamlining and increasing quality in support through, among other things, digitization.
  • Knowledge of administrative law and the laws and regulations governing higher education operations and experience in public authority exercise.
  • Experience working with admissions to universities and colleges.

A probationary period of 6 months may apply for this position.

The Student and Education section provides service and administrative support within the educational area and works for a good working environment for students. The section supports students regarding study-related health and illness, assistance with study techniques, academic writing, targeted pedagogical support for students with disabilities, as well as Supplemental Instruction (SI). The section's responsibilities also include admissions, degree issuance, and study documentation with its support systems. Additionally, the section works to evaluate and develop methods for quality assurance of the university's programs. The section is the system owner for several study administrative support systems, including Lubas and Sunet Survey. The section also has local system responsibility for Ladok and the admissions system NyA. The section consists of approximately 100 employees, organized into the departments of Admissions, Examinations, Student Health, Student Support and Learning, Study Administrative Systems, and Educational Strategic Support.
