Workplace Description

The research group for genetics and diabetes conducts research in precision medicine and the metabolic complexity of type 2 diabetes.

The research, focusing on precision medicine and genetics, is at the forefront of the diabetes field; the group is led by Associate Professor Emma Ahlqvist. The office is located at CRC in Malmö. Job Responsibilities and Duties

As a project assistant, you will collaborate with researchers to perform quality control on registry data and compile diagnoses for upcoming scientific analysis. You will also conduct preliminary statistical analyses, create figures and illustrations, and participate in writing research grant applications and scientific articles. Other tasks may also occur.

Qualifications

Requirements for the position are:

  • Master's degree in medical science or another subject deemed relevant by the employer
  • Good knowledge and documented experience in statistical analysis
  • Good knowledge of cancer and other diseases commonly associated with diabetes
  • Documented knowledge of autoimmune diabetes (type 1, LADA) and type 2 diabetes
  • Very good command of English, both spoken and written

Meritorious for the position are:

  • Medical degree
  • Doctorate in medical science or another subject deemed relevant by the employer
  • Experience in writing successful research grant applications
  • Basic knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written

The applicant must be motivated, focused, and meticulous. The applicant must have the ability to work independently but also possess good collaboration skills. Great emphasis will be placed on the candidate's personal suitability for the position.

Other

The position is a fixed-term employment according to the VASA agreement (Special Terms Agreement for Certain Government Employment) for 6 months with a workload of 100%.
