Do you want to take the next step in your professional role in social work?
Now you have the opportunity to take the next step in your professional role and build your competence in financial assistance through an enhanced introduction program. The program provides you with structured support to develop into a confident and independent social worker in financial assistance.
Job Responsibilities
Within the department for financial assistance and housing, there is a section that offers an enhanced introduction program for four months. The program is aimed at employees who are new to financial assistance and aims to provide you with a secure and qualitative start in the work. The introduction consists of practical work under supervision in one of our sections, combined with training, study visits, workshops with cases, and structured reflection sessions. This gives you a broader, deeper, and more flexible introduction to the work as a social worker in financial assistance. The goal is for you to move on to a regular section and work as an independent social worker after the introduction period.
In the section, there is also a senior social worker who, together with your manager, is responsible for supervision and support during your initial time in the organization.
The work as a social worker in financial assistance involves social change and motivational work for clients who, for various reasons, lack their own income and/or housing. At the same time, you investigate and make decisions about the right to assistance based on applicable legislation, guidelines, and practices. The role includes recurring contacts with both individuals and internal and external collaboration partners. The work is client-oriented, and you meet your clients regularly, usually every month. It is a varied and developing job with many points of contact and varying tasks.
The work requires a relatively high degree of independence, particularly in interpreting legislation and making professional assessments, as well as a good ability to meet people in different life situations.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
- A degree in social work
- No or limited experience in financial assistance and you want to develop in the field.
It is an advantage if you have:
- Experience from other areas of social services
- Experience in other social work
The job requires good computer skills, good administrative ability, and a good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in the Swedish language.
To thrive in the role, you need to have a genuine commitment to social work and a professional approach in meeting people in different life situations. You are confident in yourself, open to learning and development, have a good ability to work independently and make decisions within the framework of your assignment. At the same time, you are structured, responsible, and can plan, prioritize, and follow up on your work effectively. You have a good demeanor, collaborate well with others, and find it easy to create and maintain trusting relationships, both with clients and partners. You handle demands and pressure constructively and contribute to a professional and respectful work environment.
