Job Responsibilities

As an investigative social worker for Children and Family (0–18 years), focusing on the environment, you will investigate the needs for interventions for children and their parents, both according to SoL and LVU. Your main task involves conducting investigations as well as performing follow-ups and reassessments of interventions. The investigative work also includes collaboration with the child's network and conducting motivational work with the family.

The work involves qualified investigative and follow-up work, characterized by good treatment, well-founded decisions, and high legal certainty, and entails great variation. We value the opinions and views of children and parents, and we work to ensure that children are involved in their investigations and follow-ups.

Qualifications

You have a degree in social work and are genuinely interested in meeting children and parents in difficult life situations. Having high integrity while being empathetic, being able to see the whole picture, and having a sincere desire to do your utmost to contribute to a better life for children and young people together with your colleagues are fundamental requirements for the job. Using yourself as a tool in the work means that you need to have very good communication skills and be able to express yourself well in speech and writing.

You who apply have good collaborative skills and thrive in a work role that involves a lot of cooperation both within your own work group and with other organizations and authorities. You have a good ability to create and maintain relationships with children, young people, and their families, and you care about being attentive and listening to the person you meet to create a good contact.

As a person, you are responsible and have a good ability to structure your work, allowing you to effectively plan, organize, and prioritize your tasks. At the same time, you need to have a solution-focused approach and easily adapt to changing circumstances. To thrive in the position, you must be secure and stable in yourself, as well as have the ability to maintain a realistic perspective and focus on the right things even in pressured situations. We prefer that you have at least three years of experience in social work, with significant emphasis placed on personal suitability.

Requirements for the position:

• Driver's license (B), as the position involves travel requiring driving.

Meriting for the position:

• Experience in public authority work within the field of Children and Family according to SoL and LVU.
• Experience in public authority work within other areas of social services.
• Experience in other social work with children and young people.
• Knowledge of languages other than Swedish and English.

About the workplace

The area of Individual and Family is divided into two departments with different assignments and focus areas: Investigation and Intervention.

Within the Investigation department, there are currently 3 units. In the Norr Öster unit, we have 4 sections working with investigations within Children and Family focusing on environmental cases (0-18 years), and each section consists of 11 social workers, 1 senior case officer, 1 chief social worker, and 1 section manager. Having a senior case officer is unique to our unit, and we are very proud that we have chosen to have a social worker focused on supporting new colleagues in their introduction and working with experienced colleagues on the most complex cases.
