Substitute Personal Assistant

Scope: On-call / substitute - opportunity for fixed shifts in the schedule.

About the workplace

We are looking for personal assistants for a young boy of 17 years who lives in Svarte with his family.

The workplace is easily accessible by public transport.

Working hours vary throughout the day and week, including awake night shifts.

During your shifts, you will work alone with the client.

As a newly hired assistant, you will receive an introduction from an experienced assistant to get to know the client and the routines.

The client

A cheerful boy of 18 years with a great interest in music. Our client enjoys swimming, cycling, and jumping on a trampoline. He also occasionally goes to the gym to train.

Our client uses a wheelchair sometimes due to slightly unstable balance.

The client understands when spoken to but communicates via TAKK.

Our client was born with cerebral palsy and autism.

The client's family consists of a mother, father, and 3 siblings who live together in a cozy villa in Svarte.

Job responsibilities

As an assistant to this boy, you will support communication and provide educational assistance during leisure activities and medical visits. You will also assist with tasks the client cannot manage independently, such as cooking, personal hygiene, and household chores.

As an assistant, you will work both in the client's home, at school, and accompany him on various activities, such as to the swimming pool.

He also goes to Friskis several times a week and does light training with the assistant at the gym.

There are opportunities for international travel with the family, and you are expected to accompany them. There will be more than one assistant traveling together.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for someone who wants to work in our active team, is independent, and proactive. Since good communication and personal chemistry are important parts of the job, knowledge or interest in learning TAKK is required.

It is important to be proficient in the Swedish language as the client does not have a verbal language.

Interest in music or the ability to play guitar or piano is a merit, not a requirement.

Note: There are pets in the home!
