Job Responsibilities

As a social worker for children placed in foster care (child social worker), you are the designated contact for the child, responsible for handling and following up on the child's case. You will monitor and investigate interventions as needed according to SoL and LVU. Your tasks also include investigation, follow-up, and reassessment of assistance according to the Child's Needs in Focus (BBIC). You are responsible for ensuring the child's rights are upheld in contact with individuals in the child's network and other authorities, with a particular focus on the child's best interests. Your role as a social worker also involves collaboration with other actors and motivational work with families based on the foster care placement.

Since many children are placed in foster homes throughout Skåne, the job involves a fair amount of travel, primarily by car.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work and previous experience in social work. A minimum of 3 years of experience in social work after graduation and prior experience as an investigative social worker within child and youth care or work within foster care is preferred. We would also like you to have training and experience in BBIC and MI.

The work as a child social worker places high demands on your ability to build good relationships with the children and families you meet. To succeed in this role, you also need to collaborate well with other parties, both internally and externally, and be able to adapt to changing circumstances and situations. We also expect you to have a good ability to structure and can plan, organize, and prioritize your work independently.

Since the work largely involves communication and collaboration, it is a requirement that you can express yourself well in the Swedish language, both verbally and in writing. Other language skills are an advantage.

A driver's license is required.

About the Workplace

The foster care service is divided into two units. In total, the foster care service consists of 9 sections, including Skolfam. The workgroups consist of child social workers and foster care social workers with access to close supervision from the section manager and senior social worker.
