Rehabilitation Ystad serves all inpatient departments at the Hospital in Ystad. The area of responsibility also includes rehabilitation within pediatric and adolescent medicine at the hospital. Our unit consists of approximately 40 employees with various professions, such as occupational therapists, physiotherapists, social workers, nursing assistants, medical secretaries, care assistants, and nurses. We work in teams with other professionals within the hospital's various departments and clinics.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Rehabilitation Ystad is now seeking a social worker colleague with primary responsibilities within pediatric and adolescent medicine.

The position involves work both in outpatient care, on the ward, and in emergency care. You will have contact with patients and parents/siblings. The treatment efforts are conducted both independently and in close collaboration with other professionals. You contribute with psychosocial expertise in teamwork and patient education.

Your responsibilities include, among others:

• Psychosocial assessment, evaluation, and treatment work
• Crisis support, motivational work, and processing conversations in cases of chronic or serious illness
• Support for the patient's family/significant others
• Collaboration with care neighbors and authorities
• Providing in-depth knowledge about children in vulnerable situations
• Contact person/children's representative for children in vulnerable situations
• Parent education
• Development work regarding patients with diabetes, obesity, and functional pain conditions
• Supervisor for students
• In the absence of regular social workers, assist Women's Health and Maternity in urgent matters

In this position, you will receive continuous external supervision.

QUALIFICATIONS

We welcome you who have a degree in social work and a few years of relevant work experience. Language skills in Swedish at least at level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale are required.

It is an advantage if you are a licensed health and medical care social worker and have basic psychotherapy training level 1 and/or other relevant further education. Experience working with social determinants in the context of medical (chronic) conditions in children and adolescents is an advantage.

You will work independently with your own areas of responsibility, which requires good ability to organize, prioritize, and take initiative. You are responsible and can work both independently and in various types of teams. Furthermore, you communicate clearly, have a genuine commitment to working with people, and of course, maintain a professional attitude. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
