Do you want to work preventively, outreach and coordinated to reduce the risk of evictions and homelessness?
With us, you will play an important role as a link between operational management, tactical governance, and strategic direction – where your work makes a real difference.
About the workplace
The welfare of the future is our great challenge. To meet it, we at the labor market administration have a very important mission: We must enable residents receiving financial assistance to become self-sufficient as quickly as possible, while also helping employers find the right skills. We meet the challenge with a wide range of adult education and labor market initiatives – and we try new ways to work together with the business community, other administrations, authorities, and civil society. To succeed, we must dare, try new things, and find smart solutions.
We are about 400 colleagues in the administration, and our role is to provide residents with the right tools so they can take responsibility for their own development and livelihood. In addition, we coordinate the city's work on migration and establishment issues.
The current position
The current position is located within the financial assistance unit. In the unit, employees are responsible for eviction prevention work, decisions, and follow-up of housing within the city's housing social initiatives, as well as receiving newcomers.
Job responsibilities
We are looking for two engaged and solution-focused employees who will contribute to developing a more coordinated and proactive eviction prevention effort in accordance with the new Social Services Act.
The development work aims to gather competence, mandate, and resources within one administration to create better conditions for early interventions and sustainable solutions through new working methods. You will be part of a team that works closely with households at risk of eviction – focusing on early interventions, home visits, and collaboration with landlords and other actors.
Your tasks include:
- Developing new working methods and approaches aimed at outreach and preventive work with residents at risk of being evicted from their homes.
- Mapping support needs and providing individualized support.
- Maintaining close and continuous dialogue and coordinating efforts between involved administrations in the city, landlords, and other relevant actors.
- Focusing on collaboration between social services and housing companies, legal conditions, budget, and debt counseling.
- Continuously following up on working methods and results.
- Actively contributing to a culture characterized by learning and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
To be considered for the position, you need to have a degree in social work or another relevant higher education in the field of social work and behavioral sciences.
You also need to have experience working with social initiatives that have included resident-related contacts.
It is an advantage if you have worked in some form of housing-related assignment and preferably with method development.
Personal qualities and abilities that we value highly are:
- A genuine interest in the resident perspective and driven by developing operations that make a real difference for people. We value collaboration, courage, and innovation.
- Ability to work independently and in a structured manner.
- Good collaborative skills and experience working in complex networks.
- Ability to handle challenging situations and provide practical support at home.
- A solution-focused approach and a genuine commitment to social sustainability.
