Within the social care administration, about 1200 dedicated employees work to provide support and care to those in need in our municipality. The work takes place within elderly care, home care, disability services, and social psychiatry, individual and family care. Disability services and social psychiatry are one of three departments within the social care administration. The department is responsible for LSS housing, daily activities, housing support, short-term stays, and personal assistance. We are about 250 employees who work with great commitment, focusing on the individual's needs and based on a belief in the individual's own abilities. We work purposefully to ensure that our operations have high competence and quality.

Within the department, we work for collaboration between workplaces and competence development for our employees. Therefore, we work in collaborative groups where we help each other meet the needs in our operations and share knowledge and ideas between workplaces. This means that you, as a future employee, will have a regular workplace where you work the majority of your shifts, and some shifts may be carried out at another workplace.

We are now looking for a support assistant for a part of the disability and social psychiatry operations. Fridhems Service Housing has apartments spread across the Fridhems area in central Ystad and works with target groups 1 and 3.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The job responsibilities include pedagogical and practical support in daily living, care, medication management after delegation, and social documentation. Your task is to support those who have complex and unique needs for security, clarity, and care. You are expected to work based on our methodological foundation, where it is of great importance to strengthen each individual's belief in their own abilities.

Working with support and service interventions in this area means a versatile, varied, and inspiring job, where you constantly have the opportunity to develop and grow together with others. The interventions provided should be performed with respect for each user's needs, wishes, integrity, participation, and self-determination. Support and service should be provided on an individual basis and be tailored to each person so that they can live like others with good quality of life and good living conditions.

You will meet users with mental disabilities, as well as individuals with complex needs and/or comorbidity. Many of the individuals you will encounter may experience emotional imbalance, and there may also be meetings with users who may exhibit anxiety, self-harming behavior, and/or other self-destructive actions. As an employee, you need to be comfortable with difficult conversations and have the ability to create a safe and respectful approach.

QUALIFICATIONS

To succeed in this role, you need to be secure in yourself and have the ability to inspire others to achieve common goals. You are flexible in your approach and enjoy working in a changing environment. We see that you are interested in development, have the ability to translate theoretical knowledge into your professional practice, and take responsibility for your own learning. You also have good self-awareness and can handle challenges in a factual and balanced manner. You are easy to collaborate with and enjoy working both independently and in a group. The work involves many points of contact, and therefore you need to be able to collaborate both within and outside the organization.

To be qualified for the position, you must have:

  • Completed documented education from the child and leisure program, nursing program, or other education that the employer assesses as equivalent.
  • You should have good computer skills and find it exciting to work with digital tools. Since communication and documentation are central and important parts of the operation, the job requires good knowledge of the Swedish language, both verbally and in writing.
  • At least one year of work experience within LSS
  • Experience in social psychiatry
  • Experience and/or theoretical knowledge of low-affective approach and clarifying pedagogy

Meritorious are:

  • Experience and/or theoretical knowledge of PTSD
  • Experience and/or theoretical knowledge of Eips
  • B driver's license
